This role manages production planning, workforce performance, and continuous improvement initiatives while partnering cross-functionally to meet business objectives, maintain compliance, and uphold safety standards.\nSpecific Responsibilities Include:\nOversee daily manufacturing operations, including workflow, assembly processes, production metrics, and issue resolution to meet production targets.\nLead and manage manufacturing supervisors and production staff through performance evaluations, coaching, training, and ongoing development.\nDevelop and execute production schedules and operational plans, monitoring KPIs, analyzing data trends, and reporting performance to senior management.\nCoordinate with supply chain, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material availability, product standards, and cross-functional alignment.\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and regulatory requirements while maintaining a strong safety culture.\nManage departmental budgets, cost controls, and resource allocation within manufacturing operations.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives, including root cause analysis for quality or production issues, to improve efficiency and productivity.\nOversee equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational reliability efforts.\nSupport strategic planning, capacity planning, and long-term manufacturing goals and growth.\nFoster a culture of teamwork, innovation, accountability, and effective communication across all production-related departments.\nPerform other duties as assigned in support of manufacturing operations and business objectives.\nRequirements/Qualifications:\nRequired Skills / Qualifications\n10+ years of manufacturing experience.\n5+ years of managing and supervisory experience in manufacturing.\nProgressive responsibilities in operations and/or field service leadership, including operations or engineering department supervisor experience.\nExperience leading teams to achieve continuous improvement goals using RCCA methodologies, Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured problem-solving and change management tools.\nAbility to coordinate activities within functional responsibility and collaborate cross-functionally to achieve results.\nExperience with multiple manufacturing processes for assembly, test, and integration of electromechanical subsystems and components.\nDemonstrated track record of developing and growing talent.\nU.S. person status is required as this position supports an ITAR-compliant site.\nPreferred Qualifications / Skills\nElectronics assembly workmanship to IPC 610 Class 3; J-STD Space addendum preferred.\nGeneral knowledge of fabrication technologies: brazing, welding, machining, EDM, die bonding, vacuum processing, torquing, soldering/de-soldering, SMT/through-hole, box build, cabling.\nExperience in staff or project roles such as Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality or Applications Engineering, Supply Chain, or similar.\nExposure to global manufacturing environments, outsourcing models, and distributed business operations.\nNew Product Introduction (NPI) experience, including transitioning new product designs into production release (Milestone Lifecycle Process).\nAbility to create and manage complex project schedules within Microsoft Project.\nUnderstanding of Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems; proficiency with AX 2012 preferred.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nExperience with materials planning processes, inventory management, and optimization approaches.\nCompetencies\nPeople Skills: Building effective teams, conflict management, influencing others, interpersonal savvy.\nFunctional / Technical Skills: Employee relations, manufacturing and operations management, quality tools and systems (problem-solving methods), manufacturing strategy formation and execution, production planning, performance excellence, Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance.\nLeadership Skills: Act quickly and decisively, act with integrity, champion change, demonstrate drive and commitment, inspire and motivate, utilize and develop talent.\nTravel Requirements\nNegligible – up to 10% domestic; may increase based on multi-site responsibility.\nHours of Work / Work Schedule / Flex-time\nStandard business hours, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., salaried position. Requires flexibility to support off-hour emergencies, meetings, and international time zones for staff collaboration and integration projects.\nU.S. Export Controls Requirements: This job requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by the export laws of the United States.
