Nonprofit Grants Contract Manager (5001)
Status: Exempt, Full-Time Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Reports to: Chief Development OfficerDepartment: AdministrationRegion: Orange CountyThe application window will be open until May 4th, 2026.Job Summary: The Grants Manager is responsible for managing Mercy House's private grants, foundation relationships, and corporate giving. This position will oversee the grant writing, grant reporting, and assist in public funding efforts. In addition, they will be responsible for overseeing 1-2 staff members within the grants team.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Grants ManagementMange private grant and reporting scheduleOversee timely submission of private grant reportsOversee management of relationships with private grantorsAssist with public grants, reporting, and presentationsManage grant applications to meet agency revenue goalsManage private and public grant follow up, contracts, and general organization of grant foldersEnsure communication with program staff regarding program highlights and achievementsEnsure communication with accounting staff on program budgetsEnsure communication with program staff to maintain knowledge of program activities and needsAssist with grant presentations when necessaryStaff ManagementManage Grants Specialist and Corporate Giving SpecialistEnsure that grants are being written adequatelyTrack submissions and reportingHelp specialist identify, research, and prioritize funders based on area of focusHandle all other general staff management functions such as timecard reviews and approvals, time off requests, job performance, etc.MiscellaneousMust participate in networking functions, community meetings, HMIS user meetings, funders, and partnering agenciesEnhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional knowledge gained by attending seminars and conferences and by reviewing professional publicationsAttend staff meetings and workshops as neededPerform ad hoc projects as appointed by SupervisorExperience2 years of experience working in the non-profit sector with grant writing experienceGeneralAbility to work effectively with a diverse populationStrong verbal communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-task in a fast-paced environmentDependability, responsibility, and the ability to communicate effectively and respectfullyPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 25 pounds
