State-of-the-art laboratory facilities and a flexible semiconductor foundry enable DMEA to deliver trusted, high-mix, low-volume microelectronic solutions.\nRole Description The Interdisciplinary Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based at McClellan Park, CA.\nAs a Interdisciplinary Engineer at the NH-0855/1310-2/3 some of your typical work assignments may include:\nIf selected at the NH-02 level, duties are performed in a developmental capacity, and the incumbent receives formal and/or on the job training to develop the knowledge of radiation effects testing, operation of laboratory equipment, dosimetry methods, and analysis of Devices Under Test (DUTs).\nServes as a technical expert responsible for the planning and execution of radiation effects testing, facility compliance, and mentoring junior staff.\nAssists with operation of the Science and Engineering Gamma Irradiation Test (SEGIT) facility irradiators in accordance with established procedures and safety requirements.\nAssists in determining radiation target areas/volumes and performing dosimetry using ionization chambers to define the radiation fields.\nIdentifies and helps resolve conventional technical problems encountered during test setup and execution, recommending processes or procedural improvements as appropriate.\nConnects and applies bias to Device Under Test (DUTs).\nSafely handles DUTs in accordance with customer requirements and DMEA Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) procedures, including packing, unpacking, and preparing items and equipment for shipment and handling materials such as dry ice in accordance with established guidance.\nPrepares and issues test reports.\nParticipates in customer meetings and test activities to support understanding of customer requirements and test objectives.\nEnsures compliance to all Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) license requirements.\nPrepares non-conformance reports (NCRs) and assists with corrective actions and follow up activities to support closure of NCRs.\nPerforms quality management tasks in support of maintaining laboratory certifications and coordinates assigned equipment calibration activities.\nCompletes required training and certifications and pursues developmental opportunities through technical training, conferences, and workshops.\nQualifications Demonstrated experience in electrical, microelectronics, systems, or materials engineering, with the ability to apply interdisciplinary engineering principles to complex technical challenges.\nExperience with microelectronic design, fabrication, packaging, or testing in laboratory or foundry environments, including familiarity with semiconductor processing and reliability considerations.\nProficiency in engineering analysis and modeling tools (e.g., circuit simulation, CAD/EDA tools, or systems modeling) and the ability to interpret experimental and test data.\nStrong technical communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, specifications, and briefings for both technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to project planning and risk management activities.\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering (e.g., Electrical, Microelectronics, Systems, Materials) or a closely related field;
