The role requires a strong blend of human factors expertise, research rigor, and user empathy. The role collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders, to create user-centered design solutions that meet both user needs and business objectives. The role conducts thorough user research to uncover insights, behaviors, and pain points, translating findings into actionable design solutions.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPlans, designs, and conducts usability studies and human factors evaluations across multiple stages of product development.\n\nExecutes formative and summative usability testing, including protocol development, participant recruitment, data collection, and analysis.\n\nLeads human factors validation activities in alignment with relevant standards.\n\nApplies quantitative and qualitative research methods to generate actionable insights.\n\nAnalyzes research data and translates findings into clear, practical design recommendations.\n\nPrepares and delivers research reports and presentations for cross-functional stakeholders.\n\nCollaborates with industrial designers, engineers, and product managers to integrate user insights into product development.\n\nBenchmarks product usability and experience against key competitors.\n\nIdentifies and surfaces usability risks early in development to reduce downstream cost and rework.\n\nSupports continuous improvement of research processes, tools, and best practices.\n\nEducation & Experience Recommended\n\nFour-year or Graduate Degree in Design, Human Factors Engineering, Social Sciences research, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.\n\n4-7 years of work experience, preferably in design principles, human factors engineering, social sciences research, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.\n\nPreferred Certifications\n• Certified Human Factors Professional (CHFP)\n• Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE)\n• Certified User Experience Professional (CUXP)\n\nKnowledge & Skills\n• Product Design\n• Prototyping\n• Usability\n• Usability Testing\n• User Experience (UX)\n• User Flows\n• User Research\n• User-Centered Design\n• Human Factors Engineering\n• Qualitative and Quantitative Research Methods\n• Data Analysis and Insight Generation\n• Competitive Benchmarking\n• Research Protocol Development\n• Statistical and Behavioral Analysis\n• Technical and Research Documentation\n• Presentation and Visualization of Findings\n\nCross-Org Skills\n• Effective Communication\n• Results Orientation\n• Learning Agility\n• Digital Fluency\n• Customer Centricity\n\nImpact & Scope\n• Impacts multiple teams and may act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process.\n\nComplexity\n• Responds to moderately complex issues within established guidelines.\n\nDisclaimer\n• This job description describes the general nature and level of work performed in this role.
