{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"caa97b94d219f1dafbfd7862","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/caa97b94d219f1dafbfd7862","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/caa97b94d219f1dafbfd7862","title":"Security Systems & Access Control Technician","description":"Security Systems & Access Control Technician\n\n*Verde Security LLC | Columbus, OH + Travel*\n*Full-Time | $25.00–$35.00 per hour*\n\nAbout the Position\n\nVerde Security is looking for an *experienced Security Systems & Access Control Technician* who can do more than pull cable.\n\nWe need a technician who understands the complete system — *access control, locking hardware, low-voltage wiring, networking, software, and troubleshooting* — and can confidently diagnose problems in the field.\n\nThe ideal candidate has experience working with commercial electronic security systems and is comfortable troubleshooting both the *physical hardware at the door and the technology behind it.*\n\nWhat You'll Do\n\n* Install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain commercial access control systems\n* Install and troubleshoot card readers, controllers, power supplies, REX devices, door contacts, maglocks, electric strikes, and related locking hardware\n* Diagnose door and locking-hardware issues\n* Install and service CCTV/IP camera systems, intrusion alarms, and intercom systems\n* Program and configure security devices and systems\n* Troubleshoot IP/network connectivity issues\n* Work with PoE devices, network switches, IP addresses, and connected security equipment\n* Run, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6 and low-voltage wiring\n* Diagnose power, wiring, hardware, software, and communication failures\n* Read wiring diagrams, system drawings, and manufacturer documentation\n* Complete system testing and commissioning\n* Work directly with customers to explain issues and completed repairs\n* Accurately document service calls and completed work\n* Travel to customer locations as required\n\nWe're Looking for Someone With\n\n* *2+ years of commercial access control, electronic security, or related low-voltage experience*\n* Hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting *access control systems*\n* Working knowledge of *electrified locking hardware*\n* Strong electrical and low-voltage troubleshooting skills\n* Understanding of *IP networking, PoE, switches, and IP addressing*\n* Experience troubleshooting systems using a logical, step-by-step approach\n* Ability to work independently in the field\n* Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand and power tools\n* Professional communication skills\n* Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record\n* Ability to pass a background check\n* Ability to work from ladders and lifts and in active construction environments\n\nExperience We Especially Value\n\nExperience with any of the following is a major plus:\n\n* OpenPath / Avigilon Alta\n* Brivo\n* PDK\n* Alarm.com / Qolsys\n* Avigilon\n* Axis\n* Ava\n* Solink\n* IP camera/VMS platforms\n* Commercial intrusion systems\n* Intercom and entry systems\n* DoorKing or gate-access systems\n* Electric strikes, maglocks, crash bars, REX devices, and door hardware\n* Network troubleshooting\n* Fiber and structured cabling\n* OSHA, ESA, NICET, BICSI, manufacturer, or related certifications\n\n*You do not need experience with every platform listed above.
