Retail Hardware Store Customer Service Associate (Entry-Level) We are seeking part time Customer Service Associate's to join our team. Job includes providing friendly, helpful assistance to customers while maintaining a clean, organized, and well-stocked store. This is entry-level position provides on-the-job training and product knowledge support. The ideal candidate enjoys helping others and is eager to learn in a supportive, team-oriented work environment. The position includes but is not limited to: Greet customers in a welcoming manner and assist them in locating products Provides outstanding customer service Answer basic questions about hardware items, tools, and home improvement supplies (training provided) Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and maintain store appearance Drives sales through customers engagement and product knowledge Assist with inventory, including receiving, stocking and pricing merchandise Answer customer service phone calls Mix and match paint Cut keys, rope, wire, wood, etc Follow store policies and safety procedures Physical Requirements Include: Standing for long periods Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds Applicant must have flexible availability to work evenings, weekend shifts and Holidays. Friendly, positive, helpful attitude with a strong focus on assisting customers Retail or customer service experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train the right person Willingness to learn about hardware products, tools, and basic home improvement needs Comfortable talking with customers and answering questions in -person and over the phone Problem-solving skills and attention to detail Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions Basic math skills and handle cash transactions accurately while operating a point-of-sale (POS) system Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and take direction from supervisors Ability to stand for long periods and lift moderately heavy items Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
