Ensures that work is being done in the most efficient and productive manner. Responsible for checking all jobs for quality and accuracy.\n\nSupervisory Responsibilities:\nCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.\nResponsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance: addressing complaints and resolving problems.\nAttends monthly Managers and Monthly Safety Meetings.\nDaily Schedule Meetings.\nOther Duties/Responsibilities:\nImplement department goals, strategies, and procedures.\nStrategies - specific action plans that when taken will cause internal goals to be realized.\nSystems & Procedures - specific systems and procedures to implement strategies.\nIndividual Actions - motivates individuals for actions that achieve department goals and lead to the fulfillment of the Company vision.\nChecks job for quality at the beginning of the run and spot checking throughout the run time.\nChecks and delivers samples to the production office daily.\nChecks job jackets to ensure accuracy on finishing instructions, counts are correct, splits on deliveries and correct destinations and make sure samples were done and look acceptable.\nSchedules work in the most efficient manner.\nAssigns employees to their jobs.\nAssists with set-ups and trouble shooting.\nEnsures that production is running at its maximum.\nOperates Bindery equipment when necessary.\nMonitors department safety regulations ensuring that employees are using protective gear and complying with government regulations.\nReports all workers compensation accidents and completes the necessary paperwork for filing.\nTrains and cross train personnel on equipment and procedures.\nKeeps employees abreast of new and better ways of performing their jobs.\nMaintains machinery, reports safety hazards, any missing or broken parts.\nKeeps the area clean and organized.\nPerforms other duties as required.\nEducation and Experience:\nHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nMust have knowledge of MBO roll and sheet folders, Stahl sheet folders, Polar cutters, Muller saddle stitchers, and Palamides banders.\nMust be familiar with personalized mail of all kinds.\nForklift Certified is a plus.\nPhysical Requirements :\nRegularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.\nFrequently required to walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.\nOccasionally required to sit and climb or balance.\nRegularly lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.\nFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.\nOccasionally exposed to high, precarious places; extreme heat; and risk of electrical shock.
