Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in nursing with experience in critical care settings. As a PACU nurse, you will provide comprehensive care to patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring their safety and comfort during the postoperative period. This role requires excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition post-surgery, ensuring stability during recovery. Administer medications and manage IV lines as per physician orders. Conduct thorough physical examinations and assessments to identify any complications. Provide airway management and support as needed for patients recovering from anesthesia. Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Educate patients and their families about postoperative care, including recovery expectations and potential complications. Document all patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in medical records. Assist with gastric lavage procedures when necessary. Participate in case management activities to coordinate patient care effectively. Requirements Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing. Experience in internal medicine or emergency room settings preferred. Proficiency in IV insertion techniques and airway management. Familiarity with sonography practices is a plus. Previous experience in a teaching hospital environment is advantageous. Knowledge of esthetic laser treatment procedures is beneficial but not required. Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the unit.
