You'll learn cloud infrastructure and security the way Shift actually does it: hands-on, with real ownership, working alongside engineers who'll teach you things you won't pick up from a course.\n\nWhat you'll do:\n\nSupport the design, build and integration of security solutions across Shift's applications and tooling.\n\nHelp maintain and improve the secure infrastructure underneath Shift Online, Shift Trade, Shift Partner and TM Vault.\n\nGet hands-on with our automated deployment pipelines and DevOps best practice.\n\nAssist with security testing and vulnerability scanning.\n\nBuild your radar for current security threats, vulnerabilities and industry trends.\n\nBe the first line of support for infrastructure requests: triaging, troubleshooting and escalating where it genuinely needs a senior engineer.\n\nContribute to policies, risk assessments and security controls as you build your expertise.\n\nWhat you'll bring:\n\n1-2 years' experience in a cloud infrastructure or security-focused role, or a relevant tertiary qualification with demonstrated interest (projects, internships, personal builds).\n\nExposure to at least one scripting or programming language (Python, PowerShell, Bash or C#).\n\nSome familiarity with Azure (IaaS/PaaS).\n\nAwareness of Docker, Kubernetes and Helm, and a genuine appetite to go deeper.\n\nA foundational understanding of security concepts (IAM, WAF, vulnerability management).\n\nCuriosity about CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Enterprise, GitOps or Octopus Deploy.\n\nThe adaptability to pick things up fast, and the accountability to own your patch rather than wait to be told what's next.\n\nCollaborative teams - a flat structure means everyone can learn from colleagues and senior leaders around the business.\n\nBe involved - come together with all of your colleagues every 100 days to share the product and technology roadmap and business strategy.\n\nFlexible working environment - we're headquartered in North Sydney with state-based workplaces and offer a flexible work policy.\n\nFamily support - industry leading 26 weeks paid parental leave.\n\nPurpose built spaces within our office - designed for collaboration, brainstorming, socialising, and focused work.\n\nRange of benefits supporting your physical, psychological and financial wellbeing.
