Billing Coordinator
Position SummaryThe Billing Coordinator is responsible for Communicating with patients, government agencies,and third-party payers to gather, process, and record information to receive appropriatereimbursement. Communicates with departments for charge information, coding updates, andother information for claim appeals. Completes billing and collection processes and prepares fordistribution to appropriate sources. Reviews unpaid claims and obtains necessary information toresolve reimbursements. Works on routine assignments within defined parameters, establishedguidelines, and precedents. Follows established procedures and receives daily instructions onwork.Duties and responsibilities● Reviews, corrects, and submits claims to payers. Applies developing/basic workingknowledge and experience to the job.● Reviews unpaid accounts, initiates correct actions to collect the accounts, and followsup on action to assure expected results are achieved.● Meets or exceeds productivity and quality performance expectations.● Reviews unpaid accounts and initiates collection action for past-due and deniedclaims. Calculates write-offs and debit/credit adjustments.● Provides general office support as needed.● Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications· High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required● Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience:Preferred● Medical billing and collections experience: Required● Experience with CPT Codes, ICD-10 Codes● Solid understanding of billing software and electronic medical records.● Thorough knowledge of healthcare benefits, coordination of benefits, referral andauthorization requirements, and insurance follow upOrganizational Requirements:Common Ground Health Clinic is committed to the safety and well-being of our associates andpatients.
