Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Patient Care Services to lead and oversee comprehensive patient care operations across diverse healthcare settings. This pivotal role involves managing nursing teams, ensuring high-quality care delivery, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care, assisted living, home health, hospice, and acute care environments, demonstrating exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills. As a key leader, you will foster a culture of compassionate, patient-centered care while optimizing operational efficiency and staff performance. Responsibilities Provide visionary leadership for patient care services, including nursing management, case management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to residents’ needs, ensuring adherence to medical protocols and regulatory standards such as HIPAA and Medicare requirements. Supervise nursing staff and care teams, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, fostering professional growth through coaching and supervision. Oversee the utilization of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to ensure accurate documentation review, patient monitoring, and medical records management. Manage shift scheduling to ensure adequate staffing coverage across all shifts while maintaining quality standards. Monitor patient outcomes by reviewing documentation, conducting audits on medical records, and analyzing care metrics to improve service quality. Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care plans that meet each resident’s unique needs. Oversee budgeting processes related to staffing, supplies, and equipment to ensure fiscal responsibility without compromising patient care. Ensure compliance with all healthcare laws and regulations related to nursing practice, patient privacy (HIPAA), and safety protocols. Lead initiatives aimed at enhancing resident satisfaction by promoting a compassionate environment that respects individual dignity and promotes well-being. Experience Proven management experience in healthcare settings such as assisted living facilities, home health agencies, hospice programs, or acute care hospitals. Demonstrated supervising experience with multidisciplinary teams including nurses, therapists, social workers, and support staff. Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and the principles of nursing practice. Hands-on experience with EMR systems for documentation review and patient record management. Strong understanding of Medicare regulations and reimbursement processes related to senior living or home health services. Experience in shift management to ensure continuous high-quality patient care across all hours of operation. Leadership skills in developing strategic initiatives that improve clinical outcomes while managing budgets effectively.
