Maintenance Electrician

Job Description General Description:The primary objective of the Maintenance Electrician is to provide electrical support to the Maintenance and IT Departments. The Electrician will assist in maintaining all mill equipment and performing PM's. The daily activities of any maintenance personnel is subject to change due to the needs of the mill therefore, scheduled hours must be flexible.Responsibilities:Maintain licensure & attend any necessary educations and updatesWork weekends on short notice for repairs or special projectsAssemble and install equipment using hand and power toolsReading and understanding prints/specs prior to starting a projectMaintain a safe and clean work areaCommunicating with the purchaser and maintenance supervisor to further support cost effective ways to manage purchasing and inventory control company wide.Travel to all locations as neededPerform other related duties as assignedQualifications / Requirements:Effective Written and Oral communication skillsAble to work well with minimal supervisionAbility to Prioritize tasks and follow specified procedures2+ years relevant experienceAppropriate LicensureSafety:Hard hat in designated areas of the Planer MillHard hat in all areas of the Sawmills and Log YardException being – inside saw cabs, crane cabs, outside forklift machine cabsSteel Toed footwear required in all areasGloves required in designated areas – per task in either millHear Protection required in all areasException being – inside cab of outside machine forkliftsEye Protection required in all areasFace Protection, when necessary, per taskFlorescent vests required for all outside activityException being – pedestrian travel from one building to anotherReport all near misses and unsafe actsPedestrian awareness at all times in the areaFollow KLC employee handbook policies & proceduresPhysical RequirementsBend, stretch & twist occasionallyModerate wrist / hand repetitionsStand or sit for periods of timeReaching, pushing, pullingLifting 5 – 50lbsWalk on uneven ground at timesAbility to work in all weather conditions (below 0 temps to over 90o)
