Roles performed by this position involve:\n\nApplication Development (Java)\nSupervision over development staff\nParticipating in code reviews\nEstablishing and reviewing of development metrics\nActing as a point of contact for on-call duties\n\nSalary:\n\nThe salary for this position traditionally starts at $79,118.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.\n\nA Day in the Life:\n\nThe essential functions of this role are as follows:\n\nSupervises the teams and daily activities needed for the analysis, testing, coding, and implementation of applications.\nPrepare performance reports and evaluates work.\nConfer with and advise subordinates on administrative policies and procedures, technical problems, priorities, and methods.\nParticipate in the development and implementation of information technology budgets for the project.\nPlan and direct the acquisition and use of information technology products, services, and resources to meet the project or departmental goal.\nDevelop and promulgate information technology policy and procedures.\nSupports multiple development projects with scheduling, planning, and resource allocation and monitor completed systems and visit users to ensure that established procedures are properly followed.\nPrepare activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the applications systems and programming project or unit.\nConsult with management and staff within Information Services to ascertain technology needs.\nProvide technical leadership on complex projects.\nConfer with users to define the organization’s application software needs, establish priorities and monitor progress.\nConfer with department management to assist in planning, organizing, and controlling activities for highly specialized technical areas.\n\nThe job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.\n\nWhat You'll Need for Success:\n\nIndividuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:\n\nBroad knowledge of policies, standards, procedures and techniques used for application development.\nBroad knowledge of application development software tools and application development software languages.\nBroad knowledge of both system and business applications and competent to work at the highest technical level and/or specialized area.\nBroad knowledge of system design including knowledge of logic, management principles and new system design techniques.\nBroad knowledge of Information Technology.\nAbility to supervise and manage diverse human resources.\nAbility to train, supervise, guide and coordinate the work of others.\nAbility to perform effective project management.\n\nA degree is not required.
