Plans, organizes, and manages the installation, maintenance, and repair of low voltage systems to operate efficiently and safely. Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and adherence to construction schedules. Perform device mounting, conductor routing, labeling, and termination of low-voltage cabling in compliance with code and project specifications.\n\nConduct regular inspections of low voltage work, identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent system failures and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.\n\nTesting and troubleshooting low voltage systems to ensure proper functioning.\n\nMaintain accurate records of work performed, equipment maintenance schedules, and inventory of spare parts and supplies.\n\nEnsure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations in all low voltage-related activities.\n\nDiagnose and resolve fire alarm system issues including ground faults, device failures, communication errors, and programming discrepancies. Perform system repairs and corrective actions to restore full operational compliance.\n\nCoordinate with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary equipment, parts, and supplies for projects.\n\nMaintain a safe work environment by enforcing proper safety procedures and protocols.\n\nPrepare and submit regular reports on the status of low voltage projects, maintenance activities, and team performance to upper management.\n\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent is required, additional technical certifications in a low voltage related field preferred.\n\nProven experience (2+ years) as a Low Voltage Technician or similar role.\n\nIn-depth knowledge of low voltage systems, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair.\n\nBICSI & ETA Certs if possible.\n\nAbility to work with CCTV, Access control and other low voltage platforms.\n\nDemonstrates leadership, integrity, perseverance, reliability, respect, and self-discipline.\n\nDemonstrates personal motivation, initiative, and potential for growth.\n\nMust be able to effectively collaborate with the project team to plan and accomplish goals.\n\nWillingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations.\n\nValid driver's license and reliable means of transportation.\n\nWorking Conditions\nThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of what a Low Volt Technician will encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.\n\nThis position requires outdoor work, with exposure to various weather conditions.\n\nThis role may occasionally require working in high, precarious places; near fumes or airborne particles; and handling toxic or caustic chemicals. There is also a risk of electrical shock and vibration in certain situations.\n\nThe work environment noise level is usually loud.\n\nPhysical Demands\nThis position may require frequent travel by motor vehicle.\n\nThe role may involve extended hours on construction sites, necessitating physical stamina to move around the premises.\n\nThe ability to lift and/or move materials and tools is essential, with a maximum weight limit of 50lbs.
