You will build a highly secure mobile backbone that delivers their mission to the world. If you thrive in tackling inherent performance and security challenges in high-stakes mobile development, we’ve reserved a place for you.\nResponsibilities:\nDrive the end-to-end development, testing, and deployment of high-quality native applications for iOS (Swift) and Android\nMaintain application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure broad compatibility across devices and OS versions\nArchitect and implement features focused on security and privacy, utilizing native mobile security frameworks\nImplement secure data handling and storage, including the use of Secure Enclaves (or equivalent technologies)\nApply basic cryptography principles for data protection and secure communication within the mobile environment\nIntegrate VIA's backend microservices and secure APIs into the mobile application logic\nServe as a subject matter expert and provide technical leadership in mobile application development, ensuring VIA’s solutions meet the highest standards\nClearly articulate complex software designs, architectural choices, and technical processes to diverse audiences, including technical peers and non-technical stakeholders\nCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (UI/UX designers and backend developers) to ensure seamless, performant, and reliable application functionality\nParticipate in defining and upholding mobile development best practices, code reviews, and automated testing\nRequirements:\nBachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience\n5+ years of professional experience developing and shipping native mobile applications\nProven proficiency in both native iOS development (Swift) and native Android development\nDirect experience with native mobile security features, including Secure Enclaves (or equivalent secure storage mechanisms)\nWorking knowledge of basic cryptography principles and their application in mobile security\nStrong experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and handling asynchronous data streams\nSolid understanding of mobile UI/UX principles, architectural patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVI, etc.), and performance optimization\nExperience with digital wallets, biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID), or equivalent credential management systems is a significant plus\nFamiliarity with CI/CD processes for mobile application deployment (e.g., Fastlane, Jenkins, or similar)\nProficiency in TypeScript for building and maintaining robust mobile applications\nWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
