ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL ENGINEER (OPEN COMPETITIVE)
The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Principal Engineer in planning, assigning, supervising and actively participating in the activities of the overall sanitary and civil engineering program. This is difficult professional engineering work performed under the general supervision of the Principal Engineer. This class differs from that of other engineering positions by virtue of its expanded scope, level of responsibility and supervisory responsibility. Supervision is exercised over subordinate engineering positions to assist with the more difficult problems and to review their work to ensure the maintenance of high professional engineering standards.
