Operational hours are Monday through Friday; 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. or as may be needed. The purpose of this position is to perform those duties as may be commonly associated with the responsibility of daily developmentally appropriate activities at the center to ensure that teaching staff provide high-quality early learning opportunities and child development services that promote children’s cognitive, social, and emotional growth. The Curriculum Coordinator will ensure that teachers embed data-driven, responsive, and effective teacher-child interactions. The Curriculum Coordinator monitors curriculum implementation and fidelity; provides support, feedback, and supervision for continuous improvement to include regular monitoring of daily lesson plans, assessment of classroom arrangements, Creative Curriculum, TSG, and appropriate and individualized classroom arrangements.\nEssential Duties, Functions, and Responsibilities Supervise teachers in the implementation of the curriculum\nTrain & mentor in appropriate teaching strategies\nCoordination of Staff Development plans for teaching staff\nCoordinate and implement developmental screening and assessments\nSupport teacher’s implementation of high-quality interaction as defined by best practices\nCoordinate the collection, analysis, communication, and dissemination of data\nIn charge of the daily schedule of classroom staff, which may include substituting in the classroom\nConduct ongoing monitoring of classrooms\nEnsure teaching staff comply with policies and procedures as well as licensing requirements\nSupervise teachers and communicate regularly with director and assistant director providing relevant information\nEnsure classrooms have materials needed to implement curriculum with fidelity\nAssist in the coordination of parent teacher conferences\nOversee the implementation of the Family Involvement activities, including family partnership and family orientation\nMaintain standards of confidentiality of child and family records\nAbility to multitask, manage time, meet deadlines, and remain calm and professional under pressure and stressful conditions\nPerform all work duties and activities in accordance with policies, procedures, and safety practices\nEnsure compliance with OKDHS Licensing, STARS, local, state, federal, and other applicable regulations and standards\nServe as a mentor for teachers\nImplement the processes for ongoing monitoring of all programs to include monthly classroom observations, review of files, review of lesson plans, review and follow-up on all data.\nMonitor, train, and provide technical support to Early Learning classroom teachers in the implementation of the curriculum and developmentally appropriate practices.\nCoordinate & attend multidisciplinary meetings as needed.\nAssists in the recruitment, hiring, orientation, and ongoing professional development of teaching staff\nOther duties may be assigned by the KCCC Director and/or the Assistant Director\nQualifications Minimum Mandatory Qualifications\nExperience and Education: Bachelor’s in early childhood education, child development, or related field preferred.\nAssociate’s degree in early childhood education, child development or a related field with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.\n3+ years of experience in early childhood education with increasing levels of administrative responsibility required.\n1+ year of the required experience must be at the supervisory level in an early childhood setting, or licensed day care center required.\n\nQualifications Required\nCurrent driver's license\nMust pass background checks\nMust obtain First Aid and CPR certification\nPosition Qualification Preferences\nPrevious supervisory experience.\nMust pass fingerprint clearance test from all appropriate agencies (such as FBI, Department of Justice, and Child Abuse Index Services).\nMust demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform the position responsibilities.\nMust meet applicable requirements for staff caring for children as set in DHS Rules and Regulations when they are responsible for children for any part of the day.\nMust be CPR Certified in age appropriate first aid and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).\nMust have an OKDHS approved child passenger safety course within 60 days of hire.\nMust be able to work independently.\nMust be computer proficient in office excel and word.\nMust have ability to communicate (English and/or Kickapoo) in an effective manner.\nMust maintain all Continuing Education Units as may be required for licensure and specialty certification or as may be necessary to evidence professional growth.\nMust possess and maintain a current, valid, active and unrestricted Oklahoma driver’s license throughout employment.\nMust attend a defensive driving course and be renewed as required.\nAbility to be courteous, tactful, and cooperative throughout the day.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality with regard to all phases of the job duties.\nAbility to use standard office equipment, such as the computer, printers, copies, embossing and shredding machines.\nWork Environment Ability to work under pressure and maintain personal composure, evaluate situations, and act/react appropriately, and use tact in dealing with staff, visitors, clients, and difficult situations.\nThe work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the primary functions of this job. Normal childcare conditions exist as do conditions with the other associated programs and services. Noise levels, stress, and child flow will vary but may be considered high.\nThe physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the primary functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit, bend, twist, talk and hear/listen. There may be prolonged periods of sitting, keyboarding, reading as well as standing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance and computer and color vision. Talking and listening are essential to communicate with patients/clients, staff, and peers.\nThere are constant deadlines associated with this position.
