The ideal candidate has strong technical and troubleshooting skills, understands low-voltage systems and networking fundamentals, and provides excellent customer service.\n\nEssential DutiesResponsibilities\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and service electronic security systems.\nService and maintain access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and related security systems.\nInstall, replace, configure, and program security system components.\nTroubleshoot cameras, readers, locks, door hardware, controllers, sensors, power supplies, and related devices.\nTroubleshoot communication and network connectivity issues affecting security systems.\nConfigure and test IP-based security devices and systems.\nRead and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and system documentation.\nUse appropriate test equipment, software, and diagnostic tools to identify system problems.\nVerify proper operation of repaired or serviced systems.\nIdentify system deficiencies and recommend appropriate corrective actions.\nDocument service work, system deficiencies, repairs, and materials used.\nCommunicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers, project managers, and internal teams.\nEnsure work is performed in accordance with applicable codes, manufacturer requirements, and company standards.\nMaintain assigned tools, equipment, inventory, and company vehicle.\nParticipate in on-call or emergency service rotations as required.\nMaintain current knowledge of security technologies, products, software, and industry practices.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nTechnical SkillsKnowledge\nStrong knowledge of electronic security and low-voltage systems.\nUnderstanding of access control systems, including card readers, controllers, door hardware, and credentials.\nUnderstanding of video surveillance systems, including IP cameras, recording platforms, and video management systems.\nKnowledge of intrusion detection systems and related devices.\nBasic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addresses, switches, Ethernet, PoE, and network connectivity.\nAbility to troubleshoot low-voltage wiring, power, communication, and system connectivity issues.\nAbility to configure and troubleshoot security system software and hardware.\nAbility to understand and work with manufacturer-specific security platforms.\nQualifications\nExperience with access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, or intercom systems.\nExperience with IP-based security systems and networking.\nExperience with multiple security manufacturers and platforms.\nIndustry certifications related to security, low-voltage systems, or networking.\nPrevious experience in a field service or technician role.\nExperience with integrated security systems.\nValid driver's license and acceptable driving record.\nPhysical Requirements\nAbility to frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in confined or elevated areas.\nAbility to lift and carry equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds.\nAbility to work from ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.\nAbility to distinguish different wire colors and read small labels and displays.\nAbility to work in varying indoor and outdoor environments.\nAbility to safely use hand and power tools.\nWhat We Offer\nCompetitive compensation\nMedical, dental, and vision insurance\n401(k) with company match\nPaid time off and holidays\nCompany-provided tools and equipment\nCompany vehicle for business use\nOngoing technical training and professional development\nOpportunities for advancement within a growing technology organization\n\nTech Electronics is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
