Working collaboratively with business and technology teams, you'll help deliver innovative, secure, and reliable software solutions while continuing to grow your technical expertise in modern software engineering practices.\n\nWhat you will be doing\n\nDesign, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications and services that support critical business processes.\nSupport production applications by investigating incidents, resolving defects, and implementing enhancements to improve system reliability and user experience.\nTranslate business requirements and user stories into scalable, maintainable software solutions.\nParticipate in application design discussions and contribute to technical solution recommendations.\nDevelop and support RESTful APIs, microservices, and integrations with internal and external systems.\nTroubleshoot application defects, performance issues, and production incidents while identifying root causes and implementing solutions.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, process flows, and system design artifacts.\nParticipate in code reviews and contribute to the adoption of software engineering best practices and coding standards.\nCollaborate with developers, architects, business analysts, QA engineers, and infrastructure teams to deliver technology solutions.\nContribute to application modernization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nUtilize approved AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot to improve developer productivity, accelerate software delivery, enhance code quality, and support testing, troubleshooting, and documentation activities.\nApply engineering judgment to validate, test, secure, and maintain AI-generated code and recommendations.\nContribute to the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and software delivery automation to enable secure, reliable, and high-quality software solutions.\nWork effectively with distributed teams across multiple locations and time zones.\n\nWhat you bring\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.\n3-5 + years of experience in application development or software engineering.\n3+ years of experience developing applications using Java.\nExperience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, or similar enterprise application frameworks.\nExperience developing, supporting, and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices.\nWorking knowledge of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, and modern development practices.\nExperience working with relational databases and SQL.\nExperience using Git-based source control systems and collaborative development workflows.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and deliver solutions in a dynamic environment.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nProven ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams.\nPassion for continuous learning and adopting emerging technologies.\n\nNice to have\n\nExperience using GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI-assisted software development tools.\nExperience working in modern software engineering environments that leverage Agile delivery, DevSecOps practices, CI/CD automation, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development tools.\nExposure to cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.\nExperience with container technologies such as Docker / Kubernetes.\nExposure to security scanning tools such as SonarQube, SAST, DAST, or dependency scanning solutions.\nExperience supporting enterprise business applications within insurance, financial services, or healthcare industries.\nInterest in leveraging AI technologies to improve software development, testing, documentation, operational support, and developer productivity.\n\nPreferred Technical Skills\n\nJava\nSpring Boot / Spring Framework\nREST APIs & Microservices\nSQL & Relational Databases\nGit / GitLab\nMaven / Gradle\nAzure or AWS\nDocker / Kubernetes\nAgile Development Methodologies\n\nADDITIONAL INFORMATION\n\nNational Range: $77,800 - $117,000\n\nDisclaimer: This role is aligned to a national market-based pay range.
