Documented formal training in Nondestructive testing is required but may be added as necessary.\nCertification: NAS410/BSS7698 Level 2 certification in at least one NDT method (e.g., Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Radiographic).\nStrong understanding of NDT principles and techniques.\nProficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.\nExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.\nStrong ethical standards with a desire to maintain a high level of quality.\nStrong communication skills, both verbal and written.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nCandidates must be willing to train outside of the Washington location listed to obtain the NDT certification.\nNo tools required\nCandidates must be willing to train outside of the Washington location listed to obtain the NDT certification.\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nResponsible for performing and overseeing nondestructive testing (NDT) procedures in accordance with NAS410/BSS7698 standards.\nThis role is critical in ensuring the integrity and safety of aerospace components and systems.\nThe technician will utilize various NDT methods, including but not limited to ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing, to detect defects and ensure compliance with industry standards.\nHave the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct system performance checks, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.\nSuccessfully obtain the formal training hours required for any method where certification is being pursued, and any additional add-on formal training required by the company based on the demands of the business. (e.g. Computed Tomography training).\nBe thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique and/or method in which they are certified.\nAssist in the development and implementation of NDT procedures and work instructions.\nHave the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.\nBe familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual specifications that control the Method used at their Site.\nBe capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in the technique and/or method in which they are certified and applicable safety protocols.\nHave a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.\nMaintain NDT equipment and ensure it is calibrated and functioning correctly.\nInspect and report any issues with or damage to reference standards used to perform the approved technique to the method level 3 and NDT manager.\nCollaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to address any non-conformance issues.\nParticipate in audits and inspections as required by regulatory bodies and internal quality systems.\nStay current with industry standards, advancements in NDT technology, and best practices.\nHave basic knowledge of aircraft or vehicle maintenance\nBe capable of developing written work instructions from approved general procedures.
