This role provides full-scope, hands-on serving functions within the community.\r\nSUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nThe Waitstaff / Server is responsible for table service in the Community dining rooms and is responsible for assisting the Dining Room Manager with the overall operation, coordination, appearance and maintenance of the dining area and waitress station and ensuring that courteous and efficient services are delivered\r\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\r\nSets tables and maintains workstations in proper order.\r\nTakes orders, provides service and requested items both graciously and courteously.\r\nClears dishes from tables during and after meal service.\r\nAnswers pertinent questions about menu items.\r\nAssists with dish washing and distribution of clean dishes, if needed.\r\nAssists in maintaining a high level of customer service for our residents and their guests.\r\nAdvises the Restaurant Manager regarding dining room status.\r\nSet up all catering events and clean up after all catering events.\r\nCompletes all assigned cleaning tasks.\r\nMaintains safe and sanitary conditions in work areas.\r\nAttends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.\r\nPerforms specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.\r\nOTHER RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nComing to work with a positive attitude.\r\nIt is your responsibility to get your shift covered if you can't work your scheduled shift.\r\nComing to work in proper uniform.\r\nYou must stay for your entire shift, unless approved by management.\r\nSpreading gossip will not be tolerated in the work place.\r\nIf a manager or team leader asks you to complete a task you must do so promptly without question or attitude.\r\nIn case of an emergency it is your responsibility to call in two hours before your shift to the Skylight Manager.\r\nIf you call in sick and do not get your shift covered you must provide a doctors note on your next scheduled shift. No exceptions.\r\nYou must conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.\r\nDo not share any internal Carillon information or situations with the residents.\r\nAll side duties must be completed before the end of your shift. Position requires empathy for the elderly.\r\nHave the ability to interpret and explain menu, refer or answer questions, coordinate meal service process and understands requests.\r\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE\r\nHave at least a High School diploma/GED preferred.\r\nHave a minimum of three (3) months previous experience waiting tables in a hotel, restaurant, or club with fine dining preferred; will train.\r\nPERSONAL AND PUBLIC CONTACT\r\nThe Waitstaff / Server will have personal contact with all levels of Carillon staff, residents, visitors, and outside community agencies.\r\nPHYSICAL/MENTAL CONDITIONS\r\nThe Waitstaff / Server will have light to moderate physical effort ninety percent (90%) of the time. Must be able to stand/walk for 100% of the workday. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. independently. Must be able to push and pull bus carts weighing up to 50 lbs. independently. Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, and balance frequently throughout the workday. May be exposed to industrial cleaning chemicals, communicable diseases including the HIV and Hepatitis B virus, and offensive odors.\r\nEQUIPMENT USED\r\nThe Waitstaff / Server will use the following equipment: transport carts, oven, stove, freezer, and other various cooking machines.\r\nOSHA TASK CATEGORY III\r\nTasks that involve little or no exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues but Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.\r\nCOMPLIANCE\r\nResponsible for abiding by all Carillon policies and procedures to include the Code of Ethics and the principles and standards set forth for conducting the business and affairs of Carillon, Inc.\r\nHealth Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)\r\nThe Waitstaff/Server will be responsible for abiding by all Carillon policies and procedures relating to HIPAA.\r\nMany roles in the community may require that we ask about your vaccination status.
