This is a hands-on role in the processing department, responsible for operating and maintaining machines that cut, shape, and finish steel parts for bridge projects. The ideal candidate will be skilled with the Bridgeport mill, Voortman machine, and plasma cutting equipment, while also comfortable using wheelabrators, drill presses, iron workers, saws, and forklifts. This role is perfect for a young, motivated individual who knows enough to work safely and efficiently while learning the craft on the job.\nKey Responsibilities\nMachine Operation & Processing\n\nSet up and operate CNC plasma cutting machine, Voortman machine, wheelabrator, Scotsman machine, and related fabrication equipment.\nOperate Bridgeport mill, drill presses, iron worker, saws, and forklift as needed.\nEnsure all parts are manufactured to correct dimensions according to engineering drawings.\nMaintain safe and organized work areas, following all safety protocols.\nPerform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting.\nQuality & Documentation\n\nRecord and maintain detailed material usage records in accordance with Bridge Brothers’ Quality Standards and AISC standards.\nInspect parts for accuracy and quality before moving to assembly or shipping.\nCommunicate any material issues, defects, or machine problems to supervisors promptly.\nTeamwork & Learning\n\nWork alongside experienced machinists and fabrication staff to develop skills and knowledge.\nAssist in other processing or fabrication tasks as needed to support team goals.\nContribute to a positive, safety-focused work environment.\nQualifications\n\nPrior experience with a Bridgeport mill, plasma cutter, or CNC machinery is highly preferred.\nGeneral fabrication experience or willingness to learn on the job.\nAbility to operate forklifts and basic fabrication equipment safely.\nDetail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.\nPhysically able to lift and move materials and parts as needed.\nStrong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.\nSafety-conscious mindset with a commitment to following company protocols.\n\nRole Details\n\nSchedule: Monday–Friday, Full-Time (occasional overtime as needed)\nEmployment Type: Non-Exempt, Hourly\nLocation: Pickens, SC\nBenefits: Eligible after 90 days (medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, paid holidays)\nEquipment: Company-provided tools and safety equipment\n\nApply Today\nIf you’re a hands-on, motivated individual looking to grow in fabrication and bridge manufacturing, Bridge Brothers wants to hear from you.
