Drive the implementation decision process by presenting and analyzing alternatives and identifying the most desirable solution. Keen interest in financial concepts will make this job easier and more fun!\nBe the lead software engineer in building incremental features from the product road-map while taking ownership in assimilating this new functionality into existing code base by applying agreed-upon design tenets.\nLead by example and serve as a technical resource with whom people on the project team can consult.\nHave a commitment to quality, seeking out design and code reviews as appropriate.\nWork in a development environment using the Agile Scrum methodology.\nEffectively manage personal time and communicate plans and status of projects to stakeholders. Work with development managers to keep short and long-term projects moving forward.\nBe a team player!\nWhat You Will Bring\nBS degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.\n5+ years’ experience in object-oriented programming using C++ and/or C#. Experience with enterprise-wide, back-end large scale systems development is highly desirable.\nFamiliarly with Unix/Linux systems is required. We build on Linux/RHEL platforms.\nProven track record in designing and coding high quality software. Commitment to software development process that promotes high standards.\nAbility to effectively collaborate and communicate with a wide range of team members and development managers.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and determination to push through obstacles. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under time constraints as well as changing priorities.\nKnowledge of financial instruments and the financial industry through education or experience is preferred. Special emphasis on back office operations. Experience with institutional portfolio accounting is ideal.\nWillingness to collaborate across time zones.\nWe have clients and team members all over the world so it is necessary to be flexible when it comes to working hours, when required.\nDetail oriented, process focused, self-motivated, proactive and committed to excellence.\nKnowledge and experience with bug tracking and Agile tools, such as JIRA and Confluence, is helpful.\nThank you for your interest in SS&C!
