This is an entry-level position that draws on prior CNC programming and machining experience and technical and creative skills to develop processes. This role requires programming, set-up, and machining expertise in support of daily production and prototype.\nFLSA: Non-Exempt\nJob Duties and Responsibilities:\nDesign and create CNC manufacturing processes for machined components utilizing CAD/CAM software.\nProvide cycle time and tooling cost estimates for new products to Engineering.\nWith guidance, setup and prove-out new programs, diagnose and troubleshoot quality or process related issues.\nProvide guidance to less experienced Programmers, Operators, and Set-up Technicians for process related issues.\nIdentify and order tooling as required to complete jobs and suggest alternatives for operational efficiencies for cost or time savings.\nCreation of toolpath operations and set cutting tool parameters based on material type, tool engagement, cutting tool, and workholding conditions.\nUnder supervision, identify, design, and sometimes manufacture fixturing and workholding required to process jobs effectively through all operations.\nCreation of detailed setup sheets, tool lists, and other process documentation for production machinists.\nIdentify difficult to machine features and suggest alternative designs to engineers to improve design for high volume manufacturability for high volume production. Design for manufacturability to optimize cycle time and dimensional capability.\nEngage in and actively volunteer for Continuous Improvement projects and tasks.\nParticipate in and sustain 5S Standards.\nMust follow all required Safety and ISO procedures.\nRegular on-site attendance and punctuality is a necessary function of this position.\nMay be required to work in other functional areas and/or facilities depending on business needs.\nMay be required to work overtime or alternate shifts based on business needs.\nMiscellaneous duties as assigned.\nEducation/Experience & Skills:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or certification in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality or other Engineering discipline preferred. Relevant work experience may be considered.\n5 years minimum of CNC machine setup or equivalent experience, and 1 year minimum of CNC machine programming utilizing a CAD/CAM system required.\nBasic understanding of CAD/CAM software system and able to create new and modify existing CNC programming files.\nProficient understanding of G&M Code.\nPossess a basic knowledge of Fanuc Macro B CNC programming languages and the ability to edit and modify existing parametric programs. Capable of creating macro programs of moderate complexity.\nBasic knowledge of a CAD software design system to create new and edit existing solid models.\nExperience interpreting part drawings with GD&T.\nCourse certification of CAM/CAD training preferred.\nAbility to use Microsoft office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Access.\nAbility to use precision measuring instruments including micrometers, calipers, fixtures, and gauges to check work.\nMust be able to travel\nExperience using and maintaining firearms is desired.\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment, may partner with Engineers, CNC Machine Set-up, and Operators to execute tasks.\nAbility to select the correct post processor and machine environment within the CAM software.\nMust be able to clearly, concisely, and accurately convey ideas and information to others, both verbally and in written form.\nWorking Conditions:\nRegularly perform repetitive tasks.\nWork is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) except for lunch and break periods.\nShifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours.\nThe duties of this job normally require exposure to a typical manufacturing environment.
