This position provides required closing documents, funding details, and related instructions to closing agents. The Mortgage Closer II serves as a liaison between lenders, customers, realtors, attorneys, and internal teams, maintaining effective communication throughout the loan process. This position reports to the Mortgage Operations Manager and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.Position Duties And ResponsibilitiesResponsible for preparing closing packages and closing disclosures for secondary market transactions including preparing and requesting documentation needed for closingPrepare quality control reviews to verify all pre-closing conditions are receivedCollaborate with processors and lenders to confirm requirements for loan approval are metReview closing disclosure for accuracy in accordance with program requirements, underwriting instructions, and relevant changesReview final disclosures to verify complete and accurate documentationDistribute required disclosures to borrowers as neededProvide required closing documents, funding details, and related instructions to closing agentsAssist in resolving customer and attorney questions or concernsComplete post-closing process and collaborate with the post-closing department regarding investor/audit conditionsRespond to customer issues or concerns, recognizing when escalation is needed to improve the customer experienceOrganize and maintain loan documentation, verifying files are complete, current, and compliant with regulatory requirements, internal policies and industry best practicesServe as a liaison between lenders, customers, realtors, attorneys, and internal teams, maintaining effective communication throughout the loan processGenerate and maintain reports to monitor the status of loan applications, identify potential issues, and support decision makingIdentify and capitalize on opportunities to refer banking products and services to the appropriate business partnerMaintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and establishing personal networksAttend training as requestedAdhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering ProgramParticipate in outside community activities as requiredPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED3 years of previous mortgage experience preferredKnowledge of mortgage regulations, compliance and industry best practices preferredProficient with Microsoft Office to include ExcelProficient with mortgage software and documentation systemsAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneously while accomplishing daily tasks and meeting deadlinesEffective verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal skillsAnalytical abilityCritical thinking and problem-solving skillsHigh standards for integrity, honesty, professionalism, and work ethicCommitment to service excellenceAbility to work independently while demonstrating excellent organization and follow throughDemonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workloadAbility and willingness to work with purpose and a strong sense of urgencySelf-motivated, positive, and enthusiasticSelf-starter with a strong desire to exceed expectationsMaintain confidentiality discretionAbility to effectively work in collaboration with others to achieve business objectivesWilling to grow and be challengedComprehensive Benefits & RecognitionWe believe success should be acknowledged and celebrated.
