Design and Technical Expertise – 75%\nFacilitate the development of clear and comprehensive designs that meet current technical standards and regulations.\n\nEnsure clear and comprehensive designs that comply with current technical standards and regulations\n\nProduce precise solutions for clients by applying knowledge and experience through confidence and ability\n\nDesign a complete project, system, component, or process (as assigned)\n\nPrepare complete project documents\n\nDesign and conduct experiments; analyze and interpret data\n\nAnalyze problems and find effective solutions to solve them\n\nWork on projects of all sizes and work on several projects concurrently\n\n2. Project Management – 10%\nOptimize project efficiency, profitability, and timely delivery to maximize client satisfaction.\n\nCoordinate project schedules with Team Leader and/or Lead Engineer\n\nAssist Team Leader and/or Lead Engineer in preparing for project kick-off meetings\n\nAdhere to established project processes\n\nMaintain project accounting records in real-time\n\nCoordinate detailed aspects of the engineering work\n\nAssist with proposals to provide professional services to obtain funding for engineering projects and programs\n\n3. Client Relationships – 5%\nCreate and maintain trusting relationships with clients to maintain/increase client satisfaction and retention.\n\nMaintain strong client relationships through consistent and professional communication\n\nUnderstand client work pipeline\n\nPrepare and participate in project meetings in a professional manner\n\nUnderstand each client’s requirements and expectations\n\nStay current with clients via check-ins\n\nReview and recap project success with clients\n\n4. Mentorship – 5%\nMentor structural designers and technicians through principles of leading by example, humility, and collaboration.\n\nMentor less experienced team members based on humility and trust with a high expectation of hard work and two‑way communication\n\nWillingly answer questions in a manner that is conducive to the others’ ability to learn and improve their skill set(s)\n\n5. Administration – 5%\nEnsure project information and communication is documented and retained properly. Record time and milestones accurately into project management software system.\n\nEnsure documents and emails are filed appropriately\n\nAccurately record and completion percentage\n\nQualifications Required\n\nBachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program\n\n4+ years of structural engineering\n\nExperience with clear progression in responsibility\n\nEngineer in Training (EIT) required; Active Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred\n\nProficient use of the English language, both verbal and written, and adaptable to all audiences\n\nPhysically able to conduct field inspections and testing as assigned\n\nMaintain a valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record\n\nCompensation\nThe starting hourly compensation for this role is $35‑$46.
