This allows us to take a comprehensive, holistic approach to improving the lives of every person we serve — those who receive and those who reap the benefits of our innovative, responsive solutions.\nPRIMARY JOB FUNCTION(S):\nSupervises the activity of an individual student, or a group of students, under the direction of the teacher in the assigned classroom.\nAssists in the implementation of the student’s IEP.\nImplements student Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP), Medical Protocol, and/or Sensory Diet, as stated in the student’s (IEP) Individual Education Plan.\nParticipates in school-wide vocational programs, including on and off-campus work experiences as stated in the student’s IEP.\nInteracts with students in a manner congruent with chronological age and developmental level.\nAssures that safety rules are observed and guards against accidental injury.\nUses appropriate behavior management strategies and techniques.\nAt the discretion of the supervising teacher, participate in parent meetings, Team Share Meetings, and Pre-IEP Meetings, providing feedback on student progress and achievements/observations.\nExhibits flexibility and enthusiasm in performing assigned duties.\nExhibits ability and willingness to perform functions of daily living, including feeding, toileting, and personal hygiene functions.\nExhibits ability and willingness to utilize approved/behavior management techniques, including physical intervention when required.\nMaintains assigned records, data collection, and behavioral logs with accuracy and within required timelines.\nUses technology for the completion of specified job duties.\nAttends work regularly according to assigned work schedule and in accordance with Agency policy.\nAttends and participates in in-service training, staff meetings and other activities to facilitate professional development.\nWorks cooperatively with others including all staff, supervisors, administrators, co-workers, individuals served, community professionals, customers, vendors, and the public.\nAssumes other duties, responsibilities, and special projects as needed.\nSECONDARY FUNCTION(S):\nShares responsibility for securing routine maintenance of Agency vehicles.\nAssists the Teacher in maintaining an attractive, orderly classroom.\nMay have the opportunity to plan and implement extra-curricular activities for a small group of students, under the direction of the Supervising Teacher.\nWorks cooperatively and effectively with Agency volunteers maximizing the volunteers’ experience while meeting the needs of the people served and the programs.\nSchedule Details: Full-Time\nLocation: Baltimore, MD\nPay Rate: $17.51/hour\nREQUIREMENTS:\nEDUCATION: An Associate of Arts degree in an appropriate field of study, or 45 related credits, or successful completion of the Para Pro Assessment\nEXPERIENCE: Training or supervised experience in the care and instruction of children.
