In this role, you’ll apply advanced GIS and software development expertise to build, deploy, and support enterprise systems for the Department of Defense (DoD). You'll be part of a highly skilled team solving technical challenges that make an impact — today and for the future.\nWhat You’ll Do:\nDesign, customize, deploy, and test enterprise GIS applications.\nPerform software development using Python, C#, C++, HTML, and JavaScript.\nAuthor and maintain technical documentation (user guides, configuration updates, versioning notes in GitLab, etc.).\nImplement geospatial data acquisition, preparation, and conversion processes.\nSupport Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance for access controls and system security.\nManage access roles and permissions within ArcGIS Enterprise.\nConfigure, deploy, and troubleshoot OGC-compliant web services (WMS, WFS, WMTS, WCS, and OGC API – Features) to support cross-platform data interoperability and client-side consumption.\nIntegrate containerization technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.\nContribute to AI/ML/DL system support including training data management and model validation.\nConduct QA/QC processes including code reviews, database evaluations, and lifecycle compliance.\nInterpret and remediate vulnerabilities from Static Code Analysis and container scanning tools, while ensuring geospatial services and databases are configured in alignment with STIG compliance standards.\nParticipate in requirements analysis, software design, and development best practices.\nCollaborate with a small, agile team in a DevSecOps environment.\nUtilize and support COTS tools such as ENVI, RemoteView, Erdas Imagine, ArcGIS, Skyline, etc.\nRequired Qualifications:\nProficiency with DevOps/DevSecOps workflows.\nProven experience integrating security best practices into the GIS development lifecycle.\nHands-on experience with AGILE software development methodologies.\nExperience with Git-based version control tools (GitHub, GitLab).\nDemonstrated ability to solve complex problems creatively and independently.\nStrong collaboration skills in team-based environments.\nWorking knowledge of OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WMTS), familiarity with modern OGC API – Features implementation, and experience implementing them within enterprise GIS environments and custom web applications.\nDeep understanding of GIS platforms: ArcGIS Pro/Enterprise, QGIS, GeoServer, PostGIS/PostgreSQL.\nFamiliarity with DoD policies, configuration management, and distributed systems.\nLocation: Springfield, VA.
