Job description:Company Overview: Family-owned market leader producing joint compounds and related products for the building industry. Located in Tucker, GA for more than 40 years and now with a second production facility in Anderson, SC, success requires punctuality, consistent attendance, enthusiasm, ability to focus, proper and timely communication with supervisors and teammates. This role will be based at the Tucker, GA manufacturing facility.Role Summary:The Environmental Health and Safety Manager is responsible for leading and managing all workplace safety, OSHA compliance, and environmental compliance efforts under the Guidance of the HR & Safety Director and collaboration with the Anderson HR & Safety Manager. This role ensures a safe and healthy work environment for employees while maintaining full compliance with federal, state, and local safety and environmental regulations, including wastewater discharge and stormwater runoff requirements.Role Requirements:Primary Goals:Prevent workplace injuries, illnesses, and environmental incidentsEnsure full compliance with OSHA, EPA, state environmental agencies, and local regulationsManage and maintain compliant wastewater and stormwater monitoring programsPromote a strong safety culture through training, communication, and accountabilityKey Responsibilities:Safety & OSHA ComplianceConduct regular safety audits, inspections, and job hazard analyses (JHAs)Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planningTrack, maintain, and report OSHA logs (300, 300A, 301) and other required documentationServe as the primary point of contact for OSHA inspections and regulatory inquiriesEnsure compliance with programs including, but not limited to:Heat Illness PreventionSilica Exposure ControlLockout/TagoutHazard Communication (SDS management)Confined SpaceMachine GuardingPPE assessment and enforcementEnvironmental Compliance (EPA & State Regulations)Manage all environmental compliance programs for the facility, ensuring adherence to EPA, state, and county environmental regulationsOversee wastewater monitoring, sampling, and analysis to maintain permit complianceManage stormwater runoff compliance, including:Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) development and maintenanceVisual inspections and samplingCoordination with third-party testing laboratoriesEnsure proper handling, storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous wasteMaintain environmental permits and coordinate renewals, reporting, and inspectionsRespond to and document environmental incidents, spills, and corrective actionsTraining & Safety CultureTake part in development of safety meeting content. Deliver Content during weekly safety meetings and compliance refreshersWork with leadership and supervisors to reinforce accountability for safety performancePromote employee engagement and development of safety culturePromote safety programs and reporting of hazards and near missesAudits, Reporting & Continuous ImprovementConduct internal audits and support third-party or regulatory auditsTrack safety and environmental KPIs and prepare reports for managementIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvementLead continuous improvement initiatives related to safety and environmental performanceLeadership & CollaborationSupport the development of corrective action plans and follow-up implementationStay current on changes in OSHA, EPA, and environmental regulations affecting manufacturing operationsBenefits:401(k)401(k) 4% MatchDental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance
