Unit Demographics 16-bed observational unit Wide variety of patient types!!! Goal for patients is <2 days “Length of Stay” Non-emergent chest pain, ERCP, TIA, kidney stones, 24-hour EEG, long-term trials, appendectomy’s, generalized dizziness and/or weaknesses w/o a known root cause Preferred med/surg and orthopedics overflow unit Preferred overflow unit for stroke patients – ALL staff are NIH certified, team works hand-in-hand with neurology providers
