{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"c8fe069322035f225e153d6c","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c8fe069322035f225e153d6c","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/c8fe069322035f225e153d6c","title":"Job Developer","description":"PAY RATE\r\n$22.49 - $23.67 Per Hour\r\nBENEFITS\r\nVOALA offers competitive medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.\r\nJOB SUMMARY AND PURPOSE\r\nJob Developer serves on a team that is the central point of contact to coordinate and provide job placement and support services for assigned clients.\r\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nDevelops an individualized employment plan with each participant\r\nConduct employability assessments of potential participants, this includes, but is not limited to assessing level of ability, readiness for work, physical and mental capabilities of participants, educational background, skills and identification of challenges and barriers to employment\r\nWrite complete and detailed individualized employment plans outlining activities and community referrals, with concise and clear goals to be tracked\r\nDevelops a service plan for each participant\r\nConduct comprehensive screenings and assessments with veterans to collect functional, environmental, financial, employment, housing, educational, and health information, as appropriate\r\nDraft a Service Plan that complements the Employment Plan\r\nProvide career counseling and job coaching, including labor market trends to job seekers, coordinating job skills training, as outlined in participant employment plan\r\nProvide job readiness skills training (soft skills) in areas of resume preparation, interviewing and job search techniques\r\nArrange interviews with employers and working with participants on job retention issues\r\nDevelop and maintain working relationships with local employers, creating long-term permanent placement opportunities for program participants\r\nDevelop a resource base of employers committed to giving priority hiring attention to HVRP\r\nRepresent the interests of the agency, (Volunteers of America Greater Los Angeles) the program and its participants in all networking and public relations opportunities.\r\nDevelop and coordinate linkages with job skills training resources in high-demand fields\r\nCoordinate with EDD Worksource Centers, Department of Rehabilitation, Los Angeles Unified School District, various community and faith based providers, Veterans Administration, and other Veteran social service and employment resources to ensure participants have access to available services to ensure success.\r\nMeet regularly with program participants, aiding their job search by scheduling interviews, referring job leads and community services to ensure participant success\r\nMonitor and track job placement activities on a regular basis to ensure accurate and timely reporting of progress as required\r\nESSENTIAL DUTIES\r\nServices for this position must be provided on-site. As a result, the position requires incumbents to report to work on-site each day of active employment.\r\nAssessment and development of Individual Employment Plan and Service Plan.\r\nCareer Counselling and Job Coaching of participants.\r\nDevelop Relationships with local employers\r\nDevelop linkages with other agencies/resources available to participants.\r\nCapacity Building - meeting and motivating participant progress\r\nMonitor participants, track progress, timely report progress.\r\nOther duties as required and is subject to change at any time.\r\nMANDATED REPORTER\r\nAs service providers to the underprivileged and vulnerable in our community, all employees are considered Mandated Reporters, and must report any instance of physical or sexual abuse to proper authorities.\r\nQUALIFICATIONS\r\nREQUIREMENTS\r\nMust be able to pass a fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications\r\nAbility to perform under circumstances of possible emotional stress and conflicts dealing with difficult, uncooperative, and potentially aggressive clients as VOALA serves the neediest of the needy in our programs which may include clients with homelessness, mental-illness, substance abuse, recently released from incarceration and other challenges.\r\nEDUCATION\r\nHigh school diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate) - Must be over the age of 18 years.\r\nEXPERIENCE\r\n1 year of experience in case management or as a job developer.\r\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\r\nBachelor's degree or equivalent education and experience in employment placement and vocational counseling activities\r\nUS Armed Forces veteran strongly preferred not required\r\nBilingual in English and Spanish\r\nVolunteers of America is an Equal Opportunity employer.
