Primary duties include safely performing a wide range of tasks that include all activities associated with, equipment set-up, conducting quality checks, troubleshooting equipment issues and maintain documentation on manufacturing processes to comply with organization and regulatory standards. This individual must possess good equipment assembly understanding and be able to demonstrate their ability to troubleshoot to produce quality product at levels that will allow the plant to meet or exceed its goals and objectives.\r\nResponsibilities:\r\nOperate equipment to optimum efficiencies to meet quality, cost and operational requirements of daily schedules.\r\nTrack all product and packaging going to and going from bagger line to ensure material availability.\r\nMust be able to interpret and follow process specifications to ensure the product and packaging meets quality standards.\r\nReduce packaging and product waste by operating equipment efficiently.\r\nComplete sanitation of line and equipment as needed/directed. Such as but not limited to, cleaning of slicer blades, bagger blow out, and other equipment consisting of the packing of finished goods.\r\nImprove production efficiencies through training, equipment recommendations and communications with foreman and supervisor.\r\nKnowledge of bagging specifications, ranges, targets to meet quality standards.\r\nSets up machine to specified settings. Adjust controls as necessary to maintain the proper product specifications.\r\nPerform machine and product changeovers accurately in standard allocated time for individual lines.\r\nStart equipment from control panel and observe lights and dials to verify that panel and equipment is functioning.\r\nTend numerically controlled equipment that automatically bags or wraps baked product into packaging materials and secures them closed.\r\nInspects sections of bagging or wrapping equipment, such as conveyors, and clip closure machines to verify that equipment is clean.\r\nPuts finished product on scales to verify the weight of the product is scaled per specifications. Informs QA and supervisor if product in not meeting specifications.\r\nLoad wickets of bags into bagger machines.\r\nLoad rolls of clips onto kwik-lok machines.\r\nDocuments data into Quality Assurance Forms / SPC system to completion accurately.\r\nRecord waste and down time data on Redzone application via iPad.\r\nDrive department huddles for Redzone as needed.\r\nMonitors the product for the desired specifications and quality.\r\nNotifies the foreman and supervisor when the product is out of specification.\r\nMaintains log sheets as necessary that are required for Quality Assurance.\r\nComplete required production paperwork to accurately calculate run time, efficiencies and cases produced (Redzone).\r\nWeights and records all rejects onto forms. Transports waste to recycle collection.\r\nResponsible for metal detector checks and logging results to proper FSQS forms.\r\nReports equipment malfunctions to supervisor and maintenance personnel.\r\nFollow production policies and procedures. This includes Employee handbook, GMP's, Food Safety, HACCP, and any other designated company procedures.\r\nFollow all company workplace safety policies and procedures as per OSHA regulations. (i.e. Food Defense Plan, LOTO).\r\nMaintain a high level of sanitation and GMP's by ensuring that work areas are clean and that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's) are fully complied with by sweeping and wiping down equipment.\r\nPerforms other duties in packaging as necessary.\r\nAssists in training of new employees or employees who change job classifications.\r\nResponsible for the Quality and Food Safety functions within designated department and as assigned by management and the Quality Department.\r\nPromote safety in the work area by understanding and complying with safety procedures and reporting all accidents in a timely manner regardless of the severity.\r\nPromote our company values of \"Dignity, Excellence, and Telling it like it is in a way that can be heard\" through your actions.\r\nReport to work physical and mentally ready to do the job in a substance free environment.\r\nThe responsibilities associated with this job will change from time to time in accordance with the Company's business needs.
