Responsible for determining staffing needs to maximize sales and profit objectives as well as all other managerial duties. Ensures that inside sales processes, practices and personnel provide required level of customer support. Works closes with Sales Manager to ensure inside and outside sales personnel work as a team.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides customer support to walk-in retail or contractor customers and responds to telephone and e-mail inquiries from customers. Typically provides support to customers with larger or more complex requirements. Utilizes specialized knowledge and experience to assist customers with issues such as product selection, pricing, availability, refunds/exchanges. Determines customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and services. May recommend alternative products based on cost, availability or specifications. Generates sales quotations requiring a working knowledge of company products, procedures and practices.\nActively engages in selling company products and services. Provides material take offs, estimates and pricing of large packages (e. g., decks, garages, millwork, kitchen, bath, doors, etc.). Enters orders into computer system.\nMay provide support to Outside Sales Representatives and may accompany OSR to customer sites or meetings with customers.\nSchedules the production and delivery of orders with store operations.\nUses customer calls as opportunities to provide information about features and benefits of company products and services and engages in researching, indentifying and soliciting new customers and expanding business with current customers.\nTroubleshoots order processing issues to ensure customer satisfaction and optimize sales opportunities. Identifies trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.\nMay participate in coordinating and conducting customer workshops.\nProvides assistance and training to less experienced Inside Sales Representatives. May have responsibility for on-going supervision of the Inside Sales Department.\nMay assist with store housekeeping, signage, stocking, inventory control and other related activities.\nPlans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project or team-related productivity goals.\nRemains current on customer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments by attending in-house training, vendor training or reading trade journals.\nUnderstands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or coworkers. Attends periodic safety meetings as required. May recommend changes to improve safety procedures.\nCarries out other duties as assigned.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has no supervisory responsibilities.\nMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.\nBachelor’s degree in Retail Management or related field and four (4) years retail sales experience and/or management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nCOMPETENCIES Knowledge of company products, services, production processes and product standards\nUnderstanding of company policies and procedures relating to sales and customer service\nAbility to maintain confidentiality and protect sensitive customer information\nWorking knowledge of building industry and retail management\nAbility to think strategically and to forecast and drive sales\nExcellent customer services skills and sales experience\nAbility to supervise and achieve work productivity through others\nExcellent verbal and written communications skills\nWell organized and detail oriented\nProficiency in Office Suite\nWORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITY The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
