Store Associates must comply with all policies and procedures.\nReports to: Store Manager and/or Customer Experience Leader (CEL)\n\nOur Values:\nWe Love What We Do\nBring positive energy and enthusiasm.\nWe Own What We Do\nGive and receive feedback openly and embrace change as opportunities for growth.\nWe Do What’s Right\nModel high standards of honesty and integrity.\nWe Belong\nValue unique experiences and encourage different perspectives.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nBe empowered to meet the customer where they are and personalize their experience:\nGreet every customer with a helpful and friendly approach, read customer cues, match their needs with an elevated level of service, and meet the customer where they are at.\nShare the benefits of the DSW (Designer Shoe Warehouse) Loyalty program and enroll new members.\nAnswer questions regarding product and complete customer transactions through either in-store sales or digital orders.\n\nBe committed to the customer having a consistent positive experience:\nWe own the physical shopping environment therefore the role includes maintaining a neat, clean, and safe environment for our internal and external customers.\nThis includes but is not limited to the following: clearing trash from the aisles, cash wrap, and stockroom, returning shoes back to their location according to DSW standards, cleaning the associate breakroom and public restrooms, vacuuming, cleaning mirrors and front walkways along with any other housekeeping items deemed necessary.\nReceive inbound freight, prepare, and place merchandise on the sales floor per DSW standards, complete markdowns, maintain clearance standards, and organize and maintain the stockroom.\n\nBring the power of shoes to life by leveraging in-store and digital services:\nComplete all functions of the fulfillment process including locating items, inspecting condition of product, packaging and label placement ensuring readiness for pick up/delivery.\nUse of company tools to search product availability to order for the customer ie. iPhone, Register.\nPerform other duties as assigned by the management team.\n\nBe responsible to pause and the put the customer first:\nComplete customer transactions while following DSW’s policies and procedures.\nResponsible for accuracy in counting money and providing correct change.\nOperate a calculator and enter data via the register keyboard.\nPartner with the Customer Experience Leader (CEL) when customer situations and service issues escalate.\nFollow all asset protection policies and procedures.\n\nBring fun and energy to everything you do:\nActively participates in daily team meetings and ongoing training.\nBe open to and responsive to coaching and feedback.\nDemonstrate teamwork and support inclusivity.\n\nRequired Skills:\nMust have the availability to meet the needs of the business.\nProfessional, friendly, and customer service focused.\nAbility to move with tempo to meet time bound expectations.\nGood verbal and written communication skills.\nProficient in use of technology to successfully engage in customer interactions (Register, Register Keyboard, iPhone, Calculator).\nMust have the ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing or walking around the store.\nLifting, including the ability to lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis.\nStoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on a frequent basis.\n\nExperience:\nNo previous retail experience required.\nThe estimated pay range for this position is $16.35 to $17.35. The successful candidate’s actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of job-related factors including skill sets, years and nature of relevant experience, training, pay rates of associates in similar positions, the candidate’s location, and other organizational needs. The estimated pay range has been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential. This range does not include benefits such as health insurance, paid or unpaid time off work, and retirement.
