Katech has powered championship-winning teams, including GM Corvette Racing, and continues to innovate for performance enthusiasts and OEM partners worldwide.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site position located in the Detroit Metropolitan Area. The High Performance Automotive Machinist will be responsible for precision machining of engine components, ensuring quality and accuracy in production. Duties include operating CNC and manual machines, measuring and inspecting parts for compliance with specifications, performing maintenance on equipment, and collaborating with the engineering team to meet performance and quality standards. The machinist will work in a fast-paced environment dedicated to high-performance automotive applications.QualificationsUnwavering attention to detailPride in your workKnowledge and understanding of engine concepts, parts, their assembly, fit, form, and functionAbility to use hand tools, gauges, torque wrenches, presses, micrometers, rod/block hone, block and head resurfacer, crankshaft balancer, manual mill, and lathe.Familiarity with documentation and build book preparationAbility to prep all new and used components for usabilityKnowledge of specifications and tolerancesThe capability to recognize questionable components for further examinationMaintain a clean work area and professional work spaceReports To: Director of OperationsBenefitsKatech offers an attractive benefit package.
