This role focuses on database performance monitoring, query analysis, indexing, and storage management within Oracle-based environments. The Data Engineer will work closely with senior database engineers, application teams, and operations staff to maintain data availability, integrity, and performance.\r\nRequirements\r\nU.S Citizenship required.\r\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.\r\nThis position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.\r\nYou can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.\r\nQualifications And Experience\r\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related field.\r\nAt least 7 years of experience in data engineering, database operations, or a related role.\r\nExperience working with Oracle databases in operational or performance-focused roles.\r\nWorking knowledge of SQL and basic PL/SQL.\r\nExperience reviewing SQL execution plans and supporting query optimization efforts.\r\nFamiliarity with indexing strategies and database performance concepts.\r\nExperience monitoring database storage and capacity.\r\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\r\nAttention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and reliability.\r\nGood communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.\r\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and elevate issues appropriately.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nDatabase Monitoring and Operations Support\r\nMonitor EDB database performance, availability, and storage utilization using Oracle tools.\r\nIdentify performance issues related to queries, indexes, and database configuration.\r\nQuery And Index Optimization Support\r\nAnalyze SQL execution plans and query behavior to identify tuning opportunities.\r\nAssist with index creation, maintenance, and optimization to support eligibility and enrollment workloads.\r\nData Integrity And Reliability\r\nSupport data integrity checks and validation routines to ensure accurate and consistent data operations.\r\nAssist in monitoring and resolving data-related issues impacting downstream systems.\r\nStorage And Capacity Management\r\nMonitor database growth, tablespace utilization, and storage trends.\r\nSupport capacity planning and storage optimization activities.\r\nCollaboration And Escalation\r\nWork with senior database engineers to investigate and resolve performance or availability issues.\r\nCollaborate with application and integration teams to understand workload patterns and data usage.\r\nDocumentation And Operational Readiness\r\nDocument monitoring procedures, findings, and remediation steps.\r\nSupport development and maintenance of operational runbooks and standard operating procedures.\r\nContinuous Improvement\r\nIdentify recurring performance or operational issues and propose improvements.\r\nStay current with Oracle database features, tools, and best practices relevant to performance monitoring.\r\nCompensation And Benefits\r\nAt NDi, we value our team and are committed to retaining top talent by offering competitive benefits and compensation packages.
