It's hands-on, operational, and influential, with meaningful visibility to Finance leadership. You'll work closely with the Controller, lead Staff Accountants, and help shape how accounting work gets done across a multi-location operation.\r\nFor the right candidate, this is a Controller-in-training opportunity — offering real ownership, increasing responsibility, and exposure well beyond routine accounting tasks.\r\nWhat You'll Do Own the Close & Reporting Drive execution of the month-end close, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness\r\nReview reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activity\r\nStep in to resolve issues and clear bottlenecks during close\r\nPerform or oversee accruals, estimates, depreciation, and lease accounting (ASC 842)\r\nReview balance sheet and P&L activity for accuracy and reasonableness\r\nPrepare and review monthly financial statements and management reporting\r\nLead & Develop the Team Supervise and develop two Staff Accountants\r\nProvide clear direction, review feedback, and day-to-day guidance\r\nPartner closely with the Controller to keep accounting operations running smoothly\r\nAnalysis, Cash & Controls Perform variance analysis versus budget and forecast and help explain results\r\nSupport cash flow monitoring, bank reconciliations, and working capital reporting\r\nAssist with lender reporting and credit line compliance\r\nMaintain strong documentation and support audit readiness\r\nSupport compliance activities including sales tax, licenses, and related filings\r\nMaintain and update accounting policies and procedures\r\nImprove How Work Gets Done Gain broad exposure across AP, AR, payroll, and the full close cycle as a backup resource\r\nSupport annual 1099 preparation and vendor inquiries\r\nIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual work, and improve close efficiency\r\nSupport automation and system enhancements and partner with IT on data integrity\r\nWhat Success Looks Like Month-end close runs smoothly, accurately, and on time\r\nBalance sheet accounts are clean, well-supported, and easy to review\r\nStaff Accountants are producing stronger, more consistent work\r\nAccounting processes are clearer, more efficient, and better documented\r\nFinance leadership trusts you to own close execution during busy periods\r\nQualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business\r\nProgressive accounting experience supporting general ledger activity and month-end close\r\nExperience reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports\r\nFamiliarity with accounting principles;
