SERVICE TECHNICIAN
Job Summary
Service technicians are assigned in the field to address the concerns of our customers. Service technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, or repair of different items related to residential or commercial modular structures.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
Assist with all areas of construction, troubleshooting and repair at job sites.
Receive work orders from service team and plan out workweek accordingly. This includes identifying materials needed, planning travel, and booking lodging.
Ensure all tools, machinery, and other equipment are safely set up.
Operate equipment such as drills, nail guns, scissor lifts, aerial lifts, ladders, scaffolding.
Assist with various electrical and plumbing installation procedures.
Regular interaction with customers and builders.
Reading & interpreting construction documents – blueprints, as-builts...etc.
Additional Duties/Responsibilities
Maintain a strong knowledge of the company’s products in order to make any necessary repairs or installations.
Track expenses and submit receipts for all purchases made.
Load and transport materials to the job sites.
Travel to and from work locations including the main office and all job sites.
Ensure all work is completed in a timely manner or within contracted time requirements.
Facilitate a constant flow of communication with the home office and builders to keep the team up to date on progress, arrivals and departures from job sites and any newly arising issues.
Scheduling of regular vehicle maintenance for company assigned vehicle.
Required Skills/Abilities
Valid Driver’s license with DOT Medical card required.
The ability to work and make decisions both independently and with a team.
Sound knowledge of building trades, plumbing, electrical and practical experience with tools.
Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills.
A good understanding of safety requirements and procedures.
Great hand, eye, and foot coordination.
Willingness to learn and be flexible.
Positive attitude and great interpersonal skills.
Ability to travel overnight on a regular basis to job site locations ranging from Maine to Virginia.
Ability to work 50+ hours per week.
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending, lifting, stooping & climbing required.
Must be able to lift up to 100-150 pounds at times.
Long periods of travel.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least 3 years of Construction experience required.
