Senior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer📍 Washington, DC (On-site) 📌 Full-Time | Proposal-Based / Contingent Upon AwardOverview Synertex is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Operations Engineer to support a federal customer's cybersecurity operations and modernization efforts. This role focuses on securing hybrid cloud environments, monitoring threats, and strengthening enterprise security posture across Microsoft Azure environments.ResponsibilitiesMonitor, detect, and respond to cybersecurity threats across enterprise systems Support security operations using Microsoft Azure tools (Sentinel, Defender suite) Conduct incident response, threat analysis, and vulnerability mitigation Implement and maintain security controls across hybrid cloud environments Analyze logs, alerts, and telemetry to identify anomalous activity Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to improve security architecture Support continuous monitoring and compliance requirements Required Qualifications6+ years of cybersecurity operations experience Strong experience with: Microsoft Azure security tools (Sentinel, Defender) SIEM platforms and log analysis Incident response and threat detection Experience supporting Federal or DoD environments CISSP OR equivalent DoD 8140 IAT-III / IAM-III (active)Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust (NIGC background investigation) EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field OR equivalent combination of experience, certifications, and trainingDesired QualificationsExperience with Azure Arc or hybrid cloud environments Familiarity with Splunk or Elastic Knowledge of zero trust architecture Preferred certifications: Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500); GCIH; GCIA; CEH
