This position is responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, optimization, and monitoring of database systems that support ISCorp’s hosted services and internal operations. The DBA ensures the reliability, performance, integrity, and security of database environments while providing exceptional customer service to both internal users and external clients.\nKey Responsibilities\nAdminister and maintain Microsoft SQL Server and Progress OpenEdge database environments across production and development systems.\nInstall, configure, and upgrade Progress OpenEdge landscapes across Linux and Windows operating systems.\nPerform routine database maintenance tasks including re-indexing, index rebuilds, integrity checks, and dump and load operations.\nDesign, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies, including roll-forward recovery using after-imaging.\nMonitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and perform tuning to optimize speed, reliability, and storage efficiency.\nSupport and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems hosting database environments.\nManage database security, access controls, and compliance with information security best practices.\nDevelop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or other scripting tools to streamline database operations.\nConfigure and support database integrations with application servers and hosting platforms (IIS, Tomcat, etc.).\nTroubleshoot and resolve database, system, and application performance issues.\nMaintain accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for database configurations, processes, and recovery procedures.\nParticipate in on-call rotations and respond to database and system alerts as needed.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.\nMinimum of 3 years of hands-on experience administering SQL Server and/or Progress OpenEdge databases in enterprise environments.\nDeep knowledge of Progress OpenEdge (versions 11.x, 12.x, or 13.x) and associated tools such as OpenEdge Explorer and OpenEdge Management.\nStrong working knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux (RHEL) operating systems supporting database platforms.\nExperience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning and execution.\nProficiency in database performance tuning, indexing strategies, and query optimization.\nExperience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or equivalent).\nStrong documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with hybrid environments integrating SQL Server and Progress OpenEdge.\nKnowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, particularly database hosting services.\nFamiliarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) in database-hosting environments.\nExperience with enterprise backup, replication, and high-availability solutions.\nExposure to ERP platforms or business applications leveraging Progress or SQL databases.\nUnderstanding of ITIL-based service management or project management methodologies.\nKey Skills & Attributes\nCustomer-focused mindset with the ability to explain complex database issues in simple terms.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy in data management and system configuration.\nStrong problem-solving and analytical skills, particularly in performance troubleshooting.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\nCommitment to continuous learning, especially in database technologies and performance optimization.\nWork Environment & Benefits\nISCorp offers a competitive salary and a full benefits package, including health, dental, 401(k), and profit sharing.
