The Southern Gentleman is a Southern-inspired gastropub located in Buckhead Village, where the team welcomes our guests as if they were being welcomed into our home.What You'll Be DoingThe Host is the first employee to interact with arriving guests as they enter the restaurant. It is the job of the hostess to greet arriving guests, welcome them into the restaurant and seat them. The guests receive their first impression of the service of the restaurant by their exchange with the hostess. Duties include:Monitor the opening dining sections of the restaurant for empty and cleaned tables, estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest wait list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting.Answer the telephone and book reservations or answer inquiries.Assist with floor planning maneuvering to accommodate large partiesEnsure that all guests entering and leaving the restaurant are addressed with a greeting or farewell.Escalate guest concerns that are brought to your attention to the manager.What We Require of YouPositive attitudeExcellent communication skillsMust be able to work the hours dictated by the business and schedule set in place by the Manager; Weekend, evening, and holiday work may be necessaryAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentCompliance Statement The physical demands of typical of this position must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions for the position.
