This role contributes to full lifecycle support across analysis, development, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and documentation activities, with emphasis on relational database products, data migration, consolidation, conversion, and support for production and post-implementation operations.\n\nThis position is Hybrid with 25% travel to New Carrollton in Lanham, MD and 75% being fully remote.\n\nJob Duties and Responsibilities\nDesigns, develops, and maintains database components supporting MFRA applications and related interfacing systems as part of full lifecycle support.\nSupports system design, integration, development, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities for O&M, Filing Season, Mid-Year, and legislative changes, where database components are involved.\nProvides technical support in the use and implementation of relational database products and works with relational database management systems, ETL, and reporting tools.\nPerforms data migration, consolidation, and conversion activities in support of MFRA branch projects and related applications.\nDevelops and optimizes PL/SQL and supports DB2- and Oracle-related data activities where applicable to the supported systems.\nParticipates in troubleshooting and resolving production issues, including timely analysis and support for stable system operations.\nContributes to technical and architectural reviews to ensure accuracy, feasibility, interoperability, and alignment with MFRA Branch project needs.\nPrepares and maintains OneSDLC/ELC technical documentation and supports monthly progress reporting aligned with the IRS Integrated Master Schedule.\nSupports compliance with IRM/OneSDLC/ELC requirements, security expectations, and applicable change / transmittal processes used by the IRS environment.\nStrong capability working with relational database products and relational database management systems (RDBMS).\nExperience with DB2 and Oracle / PL/SQL in support of application development and data management activities.\nExperience with ETL and reporting tools.\nAbility to support data migration, consolidation, and conversion.\nAbility to troubleshoot and resolve problems in a timely manner in production or support environments.\nFamiliarity with IBM ELM / IBM Suite / Jira and compliance-oriented development environments used by the IRS.\nFamiliarity with Agile methodologies and support for integrated development, testing, and deployment activities.\nAbility to contribute to technical documentation aligned with OneSDLC / ELC and IRM-compliant delivery.\nAbility to support integration/interoperability, security, and technical communication requirements within a complex Federal IT environment.\nMust reside within 2 hours from Lanham, MD\nActive Federal Clearance\n\nEducation & Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field.\n3-5 years relevant experience supporting enterprise application database development, optimization, and production support in complex IT environments, including work with relational databases, ETL/reporting, data conversion, and lifecycle documentation.\n\nWhy Join Sierra7?\nSierra7 is a Small Disabled Veteran Owned Business.
