This is a hands-on role for someone who can build, automate, secure, and operate mission systems across Linux, virtualization, containerized platforms, and CI/CD environments. This is also a unique growth opportunity within DPG. You would be the first DPG employee supporting this program in Virginia, helping establish our presence with the customer and creating a strong foundation for future growth.\n\nYou will work alongside infrastructure, software, cybersecurity, and mission teams to modernize and operate secure systems in a classified environment. The ideal candidate brings strong Linux administration experience, a DevSecOps mindset, and the ability to troubleshoot across the stack.\n\nResponsibilities\nSupport the modernization of systems that are tightly coupled to underlying infrastructure.\nDesign, maintain, and improve build, integration, test, deployment, and operational pipelines.\nAdminister and troubleshoot Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems, including provisioning, patching, hardening, performance tuning, networking, user management, and system security.\nDevelop and maintain automation using tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Bash, and Python.\nSupport CI/CD tooling and developer platforms, including Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jira, and related pipeline tools.\nWork with virtualization and platform technologies such as VMware ESXi, vCenter, Rancher, Kubernetes, and containerized services.\nIntegrate security and compliance into the platform through access management, encryption, vulnerability remediation, configuration control, and secure deployment practices.\nCollaborate with software, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and mission stakeholders to deliver reliable and secure technical solutions.\nProvide operational support for mission systems, including troubleshooting applications, Linux services, infrastructure, and deployment issues.\nSupport storage and infrastructure operations, including NAS, SAN, and related enterprise systems.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n7 to 10 years of experience in Linux systems administration, DevOps, DevSecOps, infrastructure engineering, or platform operations.\nStrong hands-on experience administering Red Hat Linux systems with minimal supervision.\nExperience with RHEL provisioning, kickstart, patching, Satellite servers, RPM package creation, performance tuning, networking, user management, hardening, and troubleshooting.\nExperience with Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.\nExperience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar frameworks.\nExperience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, Rancher, Kubernetes, containers, or similar platform technologies.\nExperience with CI/CD and developer tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Jira, and pipeline automation tools.\nExperience troubleshooting applications and infrastructure services running on Linux-based systems.\nStrong analytical, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.\n\nDesired Qualifications\nExperience developing, testing, securing, and delivering applications within a DevSecOps framework.\nExperience with containerization technologies such as Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, Rancher, or Helm.\nExperience supporting secure software factories, hardened pipelines, or mission application environments.\nExperience with AWS, GovCloud, or hybrid cloud environments.\nExperience with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform, Packer, or Ansible.\nExperience with STIGs, vulnerability remediation, access controls, RMF, or compliance-driven environments.\nExperience working in Agile environments using Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.\n\nWhat We Are Looking For\nWe are looking for a technical owner who understands how systems are built, how they fail, how to automate repeatable work, and how to keep secure mission environments stable and scalable.\nThis is a strong fit for someone who enjoys hands-on engineering, wants visibility with the customer, and is excited by the opportunity to help DPG grow into a new program area.
