There is no better place to launch an exciting, fulfilling career in animal services than Frisco Pet Hospital.This job is commission-based pay.Deliver outstanding customer service to pet owners by executing style requests, communicate clearly and honestly, and bringing a positive attitude to work each day.Provide exemplary cosmetic care for pets, be gentle and patient with anxious and difficult animals.Protect the best interests of our customers and their pets, notifying owners of any concerns, including skin abnormalities, ear infections, ticks, and fleas.Help our organization continue to grow by forming fruitful relationships with customers that result in repeat visits.EDUCATION AND LICENSURE REQUIREMENTSNo formal education or licensing is requiredEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSPrevious grooming experience is a requirementPERSONAL REQUIREMENTSMinimum of 18 years oldHas reliable form of transportation.Be able to work your shift in its entirety and complete all tasks assigned during that shiftGenuinely enjoys working with animals and is able to deal with them even when they are stressed, ill or in pain.Is well-spoken and approaches his/her job duties in a mature nature.Is experienced in the teamwork approach and works well with all levels of hospital team members.Possesses excellent client communication and customer service skills.Physical Effort : Work requires lifting, carrying, and restraining animals (can be assisted by other staff members in lifting animals over 50 lbs.). Walks or stands for extended periods or time; frequently works in a bent position.Working conditions : Will be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises and animal feces, urine, blood and vomit. May be exposed to bites, scratches and contagious diseases while working on the job.o Responsible for cleaning and freshening pet hair by bathing animals and otherwise keeping patients tidy by blow-drying and shaping fur, brushing and de-matting coats, trimming nails and cleaning earso Shave, trim, and style pets' hair according to the owner's preferenceo Can provide compassionate care to patients and clients.o Can conduct oneself in a confident and professional manner even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.o Can legibly keep accurate grooming records in accordance with hospital policy.o Can prepare, clean, and maintain the grooming area. Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility, does not hesitate to clean, or organize as part of a normal job duty.o Can properly care for all grooming materials and equipment, including plumbing and HVAC. Will immediately notify Dr Moore (owner) and/or Practice Manager of any damaged or malfunctioning of or equipment, property, plumbing, and HAC.o Maintains positive, cooperative relationships with other employees.o Expected to monitor pets for signs of illness and report any findings to the Veterinarian.o Practiced verbal communication skillso Detail orientedo Advise owners on at-home care tips and best practices for their petso Performs other duties as assigned including assisting in other areasCompany Description Full-service small animal veterinary hospital offering wellness and urgent/emergent care.
