Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) - Telemetry NightsKanopolis, KS $32,009 - $42,099 a yearThe Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate care to patients under the guidance of physicians and nursing staff. This position requires timely and accurate documentation in accordance with healthcare policies and demonstrates proficiency in unit-specific competencies, policies, and procedures.Key Responsibilities:Provide patient care across all age groups, from newborns to geriatrics, to support optimal health outcomes.Adhere to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).Maintain effective communication and professional relationships with patients, families, healthcare team members, and external agencies.Complete additional duties as assigned to support unit operations.Education and Experience:Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Home Health Aide (HHA) within the relevant state or equivalent experience such as early nursing education.Successful completion of on-the-job training in sterile technique, instrument care, EKG, and phlebotomy.Licenses and Certifications:Current BLS/CPR certification from an approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation.Preferred: Phlebotomy Technician (PBT) certification (ASCP).Preferred Qualifications:Previous experience in a medical environment is advantageous.Skills and Abilities:Basic to moderate computer skills, including familiarity with telesitter technology.Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.A compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.Physical Requirements:Ability to perform very heavy work, occasionally lifting over 100 lbs and frequently up to 50 lbs.Standing or walking for 75-100% of the workday, with or without accommodation.This role is based in a regional healthcare setting within the central United States, serving a diverse patient population with a commitment to delivering exceptional care and support.
