Sales Director
Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is searching for a Sales Director to support the company’s strategy of enhancing the continued growth and development of the sales team. This role will be responsible for sales and marketing of Steel Structures in a specific area olf the country and other assigned accounts including sales rep management, alliance partner relationship management, EPC Customer management/development, RFQ management, new customer development, sales forecasting, backlog accuracy and fulfillment and various other aspects of customer management.Meyer Utility Structures is a proud subsidiary of the infrastructure company, Arcosa, Inc. Meyer Utility Structures is an industry leader in the engineering design and fabrication of concrete and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.What You’ll DoOwn the sales of all products for the region, from initial customer contact/order placement through design, fabrication, installation and payment collection, understanding the revenue streams and probable responses based on changes in price, lead time or product changesCoordinate activities as needed between the various functions such as sales, project management, operations, legal, finance, manufacturer’s representatives and the customer ensuring optimal outcomes and customer satisfactionManage current alliance customer contracts and relationshipsIdentify key prospects for future relationships and engage the Meyer business unit appropriately to best position to capture orders and win market shareBuild relationships with key stakeholders to deliver value-added service and build customer loyaltyUtilize industry and/or commercial knowledge along with competitive analysis to establish and adjust the overall strategy for accounts and accounts portfolio with Arcosa/Meyer business goalsWork with alliance customers to proactively reserve and manage production space in Meyer’s backlog in advance of upcoming projects; set up processes and timelines for customers to provide key information required to proceed with production and maintain scheduleAssist with and in some instances take the lead on the quote process for non-aligned customers, working effectively within Meyer’s team to produce bids and proposalsObtain feedback on competitive bids and update Meyer’s MRP systemManage manufacturer’s sales representatives located in the territory and accountsSolicit from sales assets SMART reports, summarizing and analyzing the information for the business unit to build sales opportunitiesParticipate in quality improvement initiatives including measurement of metrics, continuous improvement of processes and process developmentCommunicate effectively and facilitate/host meetings as necessary to both promote Meyer and resolve/address conflict and problems internally and externallyAnalyze customer/competition situations to maximize revenue and profitabilityStay up to date on industry changes, participating where possible in organizations directly involved with our prime markets and continually working to improve sales techniques and sales knowledgeAttend industry trade shows and participate in customer hospitalityPursue special activities such as competitive investigations, market studies on new products and credit or collection activities as assigned or authorized by supervisorWhat You’ll NeedBachelor’s Degree (B.S. preferred) from a four-year college or university and 10+ years sales and marketing experienceTechnical sales experience (Engineering background strongly preferred)Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create presentations for internal/external customersAbility to model the Meyer Utility Structures Guiding PrinciplesExcellent interpersonal skills and proven customer relationship developmentAbility to travel 50%
