Accounting - Chief Financial Officer

Job Description The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) leads the Credit Union's Accounting team, managing accounting operations and payment systems to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role oversees budgeting, audit coordination and cash management, while driving cost efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements. The CFO supports core system operations, manages risk through disaster recovery planning, and partners with internal and external auditors to uphold the financial health and strategic goals of the organization.ResponsibilitiesManage financial reporting and prepare annual plans and operating budgetsOversee accounting processes to ensure accurate and current financial recordsCoordinate internal and external audits, as well as coordinator Federal and State examinersLead, train, and evaluate a our Accounting team of 5 employeesImplement policies, objectives, and programs in collaboration with Credit Union leadershipMaintain record retention and disaster recovery plans, ensuring data security and business continuityMonitor cash position daily to maintain appropriate fund availabilityDevelop recommendations for cost efficiencies and enhancements in products and processesProvide friendly, professional service and support to both Members and staffSupport core system and standard accounting systemsTravel occasionally to different office locations for cash counts and auditsRequired QualificationsMinimum of 2 years in financial managementBachelor's degree in AccountingPreferred QualificationsExperience in accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and audit managementProficient in Excel and standard accounting toolsStrong leadership and communication skillsData analysis and policy development and implementationDisclaimer: Ability to communicate in person, by phone and electronically.
