Laser/Press Brake Operator

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Review dispatch report and determine the properoperating schedule for FMS Laser Cutting System. Set up and operate FMSLaser Cutting equipment. Make all required adjustments, cleaning andcalibrations for efficient laser cutting operations. Produce first pieceand inspect for proper dimensions using a variety of measuring toolsincluding tape measures, veneer calipers, protractors, squares andmicrometers. Set up and operate a variety of fabricating machines, whichinclude shears, press brakes, rollers, pipe bending equipment, punchpresses, stamping equipment, which may include coil feeding equipment toproduce a variety of parts. As required, instruct other operators in theset-up and proper operation of equipment. Study drawing and operationsheets provided to determine proper sequence of operations, checkmaterial for proper gauge and type, obtain proper dies, unipunches andother cutting and forming devices, use safety guards and work with SteelStores Attendant or Material Handler to ensure provision of propermaterial. Produce first piece and check for proper dimensions using avariety of measuring instruments, such as steel rule, square,protractor, veneer calipers, micrometers, etc. Responsible for makingparts per print specifications. Operate and inspect overhead hoists andsheet lifting devices. Assist maintenance in the changing and adjustingof shear blades as required. Using a variety of grinding equipmentperform grinding and deburring operations. Separate drop-off asrequired, and stack completed pieces on pallet or other container formovement to succeeding operation. Notify supervisor or coordinator ofvariances from required amount. Check machine for proper operation,lubricate as instructed, and report any malfunctions to supervisor orcoordinator. Observe all Corporate and departmental safety rules andregulations.
