This person will apply their strong real time embedded server development background, knowledge of radio frequency communications, reception and signal processing techniques as well as software development skills to meet signal detection, parameter measurement and analysis challenges facing spectrum regulators and intelligence organizations around the globe. Spectrum Signal Processing algorithms, FFT, Geo location) and managing Interrupts/data blocks\r\nExtensive C/C++ software development experience (6+ years) with proficiency in such language features as templates, Lambda functions, vectors, maps and algorithms etc. using C++11 or newer standards\r\nExtensive experience in design, implementation and testing of complex real-time multithreaded/multitasking/multicore embedded server software supporting multiple simultaneous clients\r\nExperience with designing well-crafted C++ classes/modules\r\nClear understanding of ADCs, RF Receiver architectures and associated quality metrics\r\nCross-platform programming for Linux and Windows targets\r\nExperience in developing/using Windows and Linux libraries\r\nClear understanding of Synchronization primitives, Queueing and task scheduling\r\nTCP Message based Client/Server communication\r\nRealtime hardware control and data acquisition\r\nSCPI control\r\nTCP/UDP Networking and socket level programming\r\nC++/C API programming (developing and using)\r\nGUI design and programming using Visual Studio and Open-source tools\r\nDatabases and database programming (incl. SQLite)\r\nSoftware QA testing\r\nAbility to quickly learn and support a large existing C++ code base.\r\nExcellent communications skills\r\nAbility to write technical product documentation\r\nPreferred/Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\r\nKnowledge of Signal Direction finding / Geolocation concepts\r\nExtensive Math, Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and RF communication signals background\r\nSignal analysis techniques and tools\r\nRF system and Software Defined Radio (SDR) Platforms such as HackRF, USRP, Pluto and application Frameworks such as GNU Radio, CubicSDR, SDR++ etc.\r\nXilinx/AMD Zynq and/or UltraScale+ development experience\r\nXilinx/AMD FGPA development experience\r\nPCIe and NVMe interfaces\r\nProgramming expertise\r\nVITA49 exposure\r\nAI concepts and programming\r\nPython programming\r\nTools\r\nMATLAB/Octave experience\r\nTensorFlow, PyTorch\r\nMicrosoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, TFS and Git\r\nEclipse IDEs for C++ and Java development\r\nCross-platform development\r\nRF Measurement equipment (VSA/spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and other electronic test equipment)\r\nWindows, including desktop and embedded variants (IoT)\r\nIntel IPP\r\nLinux utilities and shells\r\nExperience with MFC, C# and Windows development tools/APIs\r\nDocker containers and VMs\r\nCreating and maintaining automated software build systems\r\nGeneration and execution of QA testing including writing automated QA test programs\r\nEducation & Certifications\r\n6+ years relevant work experience.\r\nMSEE/MSCS (or BSEE/BSCS with extended relevant work experience) with emphasis on Embedded Software and Digital Signal Processing.\r\nMust be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident\r\nSalary Range\r\nWe recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this position is $150,100- $180,000 and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate's experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
