Job Description SummarySOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide.The Assistant Project Manager is responsible for overall support of HV construction/operation resulting in successful project execution.This role is located full-time on a jobsite in Galesburg, IL, and will require travel. Specific location details and expectations will be discussed during the interview process.Job DescriptionThis job description reflects management's assignment of essential functions, it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned.Position Responsibilities and DutiesAble to communicate and coordinate all Project Engineer's responsibilities to achieve project successReview Power Purchase Agreements, Generator Interconnection Agreements, Utility Interconnection requirements, Contract requirements, System Impact Studies, Facility Studies, and Customer/Owner Engineer requirements to ensure Project complianceReview LNTP/Early Stage DeliverablesAssist in preparing project HV budgets and forecastsAssist in developing subcontractor scopes of work and support subcontracting efforts with PMManage HV subcontractors (billings, RFIs, status reports, risk, etc.)HV Scope change managementParticipate in Project Kick-Off MeetingManage/Collect RFI'sParticipate in Utility Coordination MeetingsParticipate in Owner Coordination MeetingsParticipate in SE Team MeetingsParticipate in Material Procurement ReviewHold Construction Schedule & Scope Review MeetingSchedule Kick-off Meeting (On-Site)Manage - Assemble Final Completion PunchlistParticipate in team meetings/calls on a regular basisWork with Engineering team for material procurementDemonstrate and maintain a safe work environment, and direct safe work practices in energized substationsRegular travel (local and inter-state) requiredComplete other responsibilitiesObjectives or Goals to Measure PerformanceAdherence to Company policies and Corporate Procedures and Electrical Safety ManualWork within SE's business processes and ensure an efficient working environmentProject profitabilityProject completed on scheduleQuality control; integrity and excellence of completed projectCustomer/Client SatisfactionPositive project team attitudeImproved personal professional growth and educationStaff development and trainingMinimum Skills Or Experience RequirementsMinimum 3-4 years of work related experience in design and/or construction of power substationsPMP certification, or direct relevant industry experience preferred, skilled with knowledge related to the construction and operation of the electrical equipment and installationExcellent customer service and interpersonal skills to work with others under all situationsAbility to work, analyze, troubleshoot and prioritize problems independentlyEffective written and verbal English communication skillsProficiency and knowledgeable in office practices, procedures and equipmentStrong organizational skills with ability to prioritize and coordinateP6 scheduling experience preferredPhysical Demands and Environmental ConditionsRequires frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 20 or more lbsConstant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, talk, and possess depth perceptionOccasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high exposed placesOccasional exposure to environmental conditionsBenefitsEmployees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, basic life and disability insurance.
